Self-directed English Language Learning through AI.

This course will demonstrate effective prompt engineering that will assist in language development. Demonstrations are given for all four skill areas, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking, while also covering subskills vocabulary and grammar. Prompt engineering is guided by the instructor's six principles: clarity and specificity, context, examples, tone and style, output, and assigning roles.
The instructor Nathan Mills will use Chat GPT and Deep Seek to demonstrate how each language skill can be developed without the use of textbooks and tutors but with the assistance of AI. Each lesson begins with a core goal of development within a particular skill and then a prompt that aligns with the core goal. The response from AI is then further explored to demonstrate how the learner can deep dive into every lesson. Assessment is one of the most beneficial tools with AI, and the instructor will provide examples of how assessment can be achieved with nearly any prompt for any skill.
AI is not only utilized as a content creator, but the instructor will also use AI to help facilitate learning of authentic materials such as videos from YouTube and articles from popular publications. Manage your own English language learning through AI, the future of language education.
