Concordance Ferments, a new brewpub dedicated to craft beer, seasonal food, and community, has officially opened its doors at 18 Horsham Road in Hatboro. The space is situated right on the Pennypack Creek and occupies a landmark 1724 mill building that once fed George Washington’s troops and served as a lookout during the Battle of Crooked Billet.

The three-level brewpub features a first-floor lounge (40 seats), a second-floor dining room (48 seats), a creekside outdoor patio (40 seats), and a third-floor event space available for private gatherings and future house events.

“From day one, we’ve been struck by how welcoming Hatboro has been,” said owner Abe Goldstein. “This town has real history and real heart, and we feel lucky to play a small part in it. Concordance is our way of giving something back — a place where neighbors can come together, share a beer, and feel at home.”

Beer with Depth and Character

Head Brewer Dave Sakolsky brings deep experience from acclaimed breweries including Hill Farmstead, Deciduous, Blue Lobster, and Black Shirt. The opening tap list includes an American Pale Ale, Bière de Garde, Italian Pils, and a Porter, with a Berliner Weisse set to follow soon.

“Our standards are simple: if we’re not genuinely excited to serve it, it doesn’t go on tap,” said Sakolsky. “We want Concordance to be a place where people can discover diverse styles, from traditional recipes to new approaches, and always know they’ll get our best.”

Food that’s Honest, Local, and Flavor-Forward

The kitchen, led by Chef Max Hosey (a Chef with global experience ranging from Michelin-starred restaurants to a humble food truck), focuses on locally sourced ingredients, impeccable technique, and seasonal menus. Dishes are designed to be approachable, flavor-packed, and fairly priced.

Highlights include the house meatballs — light and fluffy, with a peppery demi-glace over pomme purée — that have already become a guest favorite.

“We didn’t want to create just another brewery or restaurant,” added Goldstein. “We wanted to build a place that feels warm, genuine, and memorable — where the history of the building, the care we put into our beer, and the ingredients in our food all come together to create something special for our guests.”

More Than Beer

While beer is at the heart of Concordance Ferments, the bar also features a thoughtful selection of cocktails, mocktails, and wines, offering something for every guest.

“Beer and food should be honest, flavorful, and meant to bring people together,” said Goldstein. “That’s what Concordance is about — not chasing trends, but doing things the right way, with care and respect for our ingredients and our community.”
