We just had our very own Setel Defender Day, hosted by Compliance & Risk in collaboration with Cybersecurity — a day dedicated to awareness, learning and defending together! The event kicked off with our Head of Compliance, Zuraiha Dzulkifly, who set the tone for the day with an empowering message on the importance of collective vigilance and responsibility. This was followed by an inspiring welcome address from our CEO, Abdullah Ayman Awaluddin, who shared his vision for building a safer and more resilient Setel. 💼✨ We then moved into a Fraud Awareness Sharing Session by Mr. Vijayadurai, Manager of LINK and Bank Negara Malaysia Offices Department, where Setelnators gained valuable insights into fraud prevention — followed by a lively and engaging live Q&A session. Next, we were thrilled to welcome Rahayu Ramli, Head Cyber Strategy & Architecture of PETRONAS Digital, who shared an eye-opening session on the double-edged sword risks of using AI. 🤖⚔️ To wrap up the day on a high note, Setelnators went head-to-head in an exciting Kahoot and interactive game show, testing their knowledge and teamwork for a chance to win prizes worth up to RM400! 🎉 A big thank you to everyone who joined and made Setel Defender Day a success. And just recently, we found out that among our sports enthusiasts, we also have a few hidden divers in the mix! 🌊 Meet Mujib J., Lilian P., Azry Rashid, Nur Sabrina Hanum Akbar Shah, Kong Quan Lye, Munzir, Darveen Vijayan, Khadijah Aziz FCCA, and Nurul Farhanah (Nunu) — Setelnators who swap their laptops for dive gear whenever they can. Whether it’s exploring the depths of the ocean or tackling complex challenges at work, these divers remind us that curiosity and courage go hand in hand. Just like diving, life at Setel often calls for focus, adaptability, and the courage to venture into the unknown. Here’s to the shared passions that bring us together, because when we bring our whole selves (and our hobbies) to work, that’s when we truly thrive. ✨

Last Tuesday was buzzing with energy as the Setel team brought the Setel je! Roadshow right into the heart of Kuala Lumpur. At Lot 10!🤩 Surrounded by city vibes and an unstoppable crowd, the day was packed with crowd, excitement, laughter, and plenty of Setel spirit. This time, we were joined by none other than Ain Edruce and Hunny Madu, who lit up the event with their infectious energy and charm. Last Tuesday marked our first-ever engagement with the UOW Malaysia, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome them to the Setel office! The students, undergraduates coming from diverse tech backgrounds, spent the day learning how we bring technology to life here at Setel. The highlights of the visit were two engaging sharing sessions: first by Ts. Khairul Anwar Muhd Ali, our Threat and Vulnerability Management Lead, who spoke about how cybersecurity operates within Setel, followed by Nur Haikal Nordin, our Senior Data Engineer, who shared how data engineering looks for Setel along with the systems that help maximize our processes. The insightful conversations continued during the breakout session that happened over yummy refreshments, where students got to connect with both speakers as well as other members of the Setel Tech Team. The day wrapped up with a group photo and an office tour—marking a meaningful close to an exciting exchange of ideas, curiosity, and inspiration.
