Teh Tarik with MD – Brewing Conversations That Matter ☕💬 At VCMM, we believe that real conversations spark real progress. That’s why we host Teh Tarik with MD – our monthly open-dialogue session where employees get to sit down (with actual Teh Tarik!) and engage directly with our Managing Director (MD), FENG GAO, supported by a rotating lineup of Heads of Department (HODs). This two-way communication fosters transparency, trust, and mutual understanding, helping everyone better understand the reasoning behind decisions and the context for actions taken. 📌Highlights from Last Week’s Session The most recent session was a lively and insightful one. Employees were especially curious about the future direction of VCMM, raising thoughtful questions around production volume, upcoming models, and employee benefits. It's clear that our people are deeply invested in the company’s journey and eager to understand what lies ahead. 💡 We’re glad that this session provided a safe and open space for these important questions to be addressed directly by our MD, with valuable input from this round’s HODs– Fairul Izwan Fadlollah and Mohd Adli Md Nor. 🚧 VCMM PSC Forklift Skill Contest 2025: Honing Skills, Elevating Safety 🏆 An inspiring start to the VCMM PSC Forklift Skill Contest! Held on 27–28 May, this exciting new initiative was organized by the PSC Safety Committee and officiated by our Managing Director Gao Feng, focusing on building excellence in forklift operations while reinforcing our commitment to safe and efficient workplaces. 💪🚜 The contest unfolded over two impactful days, combining learning with hands-on competition: 📚 Day 1: Knowledge refresher & practical layout 🎯 Day 2: Head-to-head forklift skill contest With 13 skilled participants, the contest showcased impressive precision, control, and discipline—highlighting the strength of teamwork, safety awareness, and continuous improvement across our logistics operations. 🦺 Top 3 winners earned hampers and certificates—but every participant gained something more valuable: sharpened skills, renewed confidence, and immense pride. 🥇 We’re excited to see this grow into a yearly tradition that drives even greater excellence and safety at VCMM. Plant Kaizen in Action at VCMM 🚀 At VCMM, we're proving that impactful innovation doesn’t always come with a high price tag. Our Plant Kaizen Team recently held a Kaizen Day to showcase how low-cost, high-impact improvements are transforming our operations. Here’s what our Kaizen Team showcased : 🔧 A newly enhanced Kaizen workspace, now more organized and purpose-built for hands-on innovation and collaboration — complete with zones for Karakuri, hot work, and 3D printing. 📱 An in-house Kaizen submission app developed by our own Plant Kaizen Lead, Muhammad Azhari — streamlining real-time Kaizen and IJO submission. 🛠 Tooling and equipment development through the ongoing new program in collaboration with the ME KD Hub — already generating significant cost savings! 💡 A Small Improvement Incentive Program rolled out in Q1, encouraging every team member to contribute. The result? 184 Kaizen ideas submitted and counting! Huge thanks to our Kaizen Team for championing smart improvements and raising the bar for operational excellence. Let’s keep the momentum going!👏

🌟 Experiential Leadership Training - 3 Days & 2 Nights of Collaboration and Growth 🌟 We recently completed a powerful 3-day Experiential Leadership Training for 15 people, attended by our Plant Management Team (PMT) and Extended Leadership Team (ELT) — a testament to our commitment to building strong, aligned leadership across the organization. Designed to challenge, inspire, and unite, this immersive programme combined hands-on activities with deep reflection, all with the goal to: ✅ Strengthen a performance and results-driven mindset ✅ Foster stronger inter-department collaboration ✅ Recognize and leverage individual and team strengths ✅ Build real synergy toward a high-performance culture We believe leadership is a journey — and this experience has brought us one step closer to becoming an even more collaborative, resilient, and future-ready organization. Breakthrough Win for VCMM! 🏆 We’re honored and beyond proud to share that Volvo Car Manufacturing Malaysia has won the Volvo Cars Award in the People & Wellbeing category for our game-changing MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) Breakthrough Project! 🏍️💥 This recognition isn’t just any award — in the world of Volvo, this award is basically our version of the GRAMMYs 🎶 What sparked this initiative? A wake-up call: a troubling rise in motorcycle-related accidents among our employees. We knew we had to act — and act boldly. What we did: ✅ A complete review of safety policies ✅ Clear road safety mapping ✅ Enhanced PPE & safety allowances ✅ Defensive riding training ✅ Lesson learn sharing The result? A staggering 96% reduction in MVA cases in 2024 compared to 2021. That’s not just progress — that’s transformation! 🚀 A massive congratulations to Povinthiran Santran, who proudly represented VCMM in receiving this prestigious award 🎉 And to every core member and every single employee who stood behind this mission: This win is yours! Welcome Back, Håkan Samuelsson   Today marks the return of Håkan Samuelsson as CEO of Volvo Cars.    Håkan previously led our company from 2012 to 2022. His leadership was instrumental in our transformation and growth during that period, and putting us on our path towards electrification. His experience and vision will be meaningful as we navigate the evolving automotive landscape.    Here's to a safe and sustainable future! 

🎊 2,000 Days of Safety Excellence at VCMM: A Remarkable Achievement Together 🎊 On 12 January 2025, we achieved an incredible milestone—2,000 days with Zero Lost Time Case Rate (LTCR)! This success is a testament to the dedication and teamwork of every employee who has worked tirelessly to keep our workplace safe. We celebrated this achievement with an event on 31 January 2025, featuring contests like the Safety Quiz, Best TIA Improvement, and Best Employee in Safety. These contests highlighted the spirit of safety and recognized those who go above and beyond. Here’s to every employee who has made this possible, and to many more days of safety, success, and shared pride. Next goal: 2,500 days! With the same passion and teamwork, we know we can get there. 💪🏻
