𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗧𝗢𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗖# 🚀 If you’ve been building applications in C#, you’ve worked with Data Transfer Objects (DTOs). They’re the glue between APIs, services, and databases moving data without unnecessary behavior. For years, we used classes. It worked… but often came with extra boilerplate and mutable state we didn’t need. Then came C# 9 with record types and DTOs got a serious upgrade. 💡 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝘀 𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱? A record is a special kind of reference type designed for data models. ✅ Immutable by default – safer, predictable data ✅ Value-based equality – two records with the same values are equal ✅ Concise syntax – define your DTO in one short declaration In short → Cleaner. Safer. Easier. 🔥 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝗼 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗧𝗢𝘀 1️⃣ Encourages immutability DTOs shouldn’t change after creation.
