My school? Do I just not have the right connections?” But imagine this instead: You apply to a firm, get an interview, walk in confident because your application clearly showed them what you bring to the table, your legal research skills, your moot court experience, your ability to think like a lawyer. You get the offer because of how you positioned yourself right. That’s exactly what we help law graduates do at CareerEX. We review your applications to make sure they actually showcase your skills. We run mock interviews so you walk in prepared, not panicked. And we show you how to position yourself so firms see you as the candidate they need. • CareerEx Consulting reposted this

Most people send one email and sit back, waiting to be chosen. Then they call it “I tried.” No, you didn’t. You just knocked once and hoped the door would swing open. I had a conversation with Tom Utum , founder of CareerEx Consulting , about this. He told me how he sent follow-up after follow-up to Banwo & Ighodalo until HR finally replied: “You can stop sending emails now. When do you want to start your internship?” That’s not luck. That’s pressure. That’s someone who decided: “You will see my name until you remember it.” Life is a numbers game. Especially when the seat you want is competitive.
Talent is good, but persistence is loud, and loud gets remembered. If your next breakthrough was 10 unanswered attempts away… how fast would you go and collect those 10?
Or would you sit still, protecting your ego, waiting for a clean, perfect win? Failure is not shame. It’s feedback. Treat it like such. Count your rejections if you have to — at least that way you know you’re in the arena. Closed mouths don’t get fed. Closed tabs don’t get replies. Send the email. Again. • 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙛 𝙞𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨 “ 𝙄’𝙢 𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙢𝙮 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙣…” The cover letters that actually get callbacks? They do 3 things differently: 1. They open with insight, not interest. Skip: “I’m excited to apply,” try: “I noticed [Company] recently launched [X initiative]. As someone who increased social media engagement by 40% at [Previous Role], I see exactly how I can help you scale this.” 2. They show proof, not promises. Don’t say “I’m a strong communicator.” Say: “I managed stakeholder communication for a team of 15, reducing project delays by 30%.” Numbers and outcomes speak louder than adjectives. 3. They close with confidence, not desperation. Skip the “I look forward to hearing from you.” Try: “I’m ready to discuss how I can help [Company] achieve [specific goal]. Let’s talk.” Your cover letter should never repeat your CV. It should make the recruiter think “I need to meet this person” At CareerX, we help young professionals write strategic cover letters tailored to the role you want & actually stand out. Send a DM and let’s get you noticed💙

  • You’ve been saying ‘next year is my year’ for a while now😒 Let’s make 2026 actually BE that year. No vague resolutions here but intentional career moves you can start THIS WEEK. Here are 7 things to do before the year ends that’ll change how you show up in 2026. Save this & share with someone who might need it.

  • You keep saying you don’t have experience. But you literally argued a case in moot court last semester. You researched legal issues for assignments. You volunteered at a legal clinic. That IS experience. You’re just not positioning it right. Some law students write: “Participated in moot court competition” When it should be: “Researched and argued constitutional law case before panel of judges, placing top 3 out of 15 teams” See the difference? One is vague. The other shows impact and skills. That’s what gets you shortlisted for externships. We’re offering 50% off CV and Cover Letter services for law students. If you’re applying soon, let’s make sure your CV reflects your true value.
