Yes, as a law student, you need an ATS-compliant CV. Not just when you graduate. But now. My content is strictly for law students, so whatever is going to be beneficial to you, be sure to find me talking about it. Within the past few weeks, I've gotten numerous confused messages from law students. The one in the picture is just one of them. So, while others hold your hand while speaking to you, I'm not nice at all. I'm dragging your ears while resounding this into your ears. Maybe then, you'll finally listen to me. First of all, you need a CV for almost all applications you're making as a law student. Not just any CV. An ATS-compliant CV. I didn't know this before. Until I started working with CareerEx Consulting - a career consulting firm. You see that internship, research assistant role, legal writing competition or scholarship that you're applying for which requires a CV? No one will expressly state "Submit an ATS-COMPLIANT CV" and it's because it's a trap. They need to filter your applications, to pick only those who meet that. It's only few at the end of the day. So, when you submit that CV, it passes through Applicant Tracking Systems, even if it's a small organization using a free version of one. So, long story cut short; Your "fine-looking" document with colored fonts and tables might never even be opened by a human. ATS doesn't care about aesthetics. It scans for structure, keywords, and relevance. So while you're busy beautifying your name in italics and centering every line like a poem, the system is busy rejecting your CV. So, please stop waiting till "after law school" to act professional. You're already applying for things that demand it. Luckily, CareerEx Consulting understands that things are difficult for students too. So, it's offering every Law student that ATS-compliant CV at a discount price of #7,000. I don't know how long that will last. So, it's limited time. An ATS-compliant CV is just one assurance that your effort won't die in someone's spam folder. So, send a message to CareerEx Consulting and get serious with your professional life! Oya sorry, I'm not shouting at you iyeeh?😂... We just used to be up and doing in this our community. Please, our usual favour, enhn...share for another Law Student to see. Thank you! ••• This is Ogo Gladys Amarachi🟤 (THE KEEN-EYED PROOFREADER🔍) Legal Proofreader/Law Brand Influencer #ahgor #lawstudents

You can’t do the bare minimum in interviews and expect callbacks. Recruiters only remember who stood out so if you want to be the candidate they can’t stop thinking about after the interview, here’s what works: 1. Mention company insights in your answers Don’t just talk about yourself. Show you understand THEIR goals, challenges, and recent moves. 2. Use success stories with numbers “I’m hardworking” means nothing. “I increased social media engagement by 40% in 3 months” sticks. Recruiters think in results. Give them proof, not promises. 3. Ask thoughtful questions Recruiters remember candidates who are genuinely curious, not the ones who just nod along. Ask about team dynamics, company culture, or challenges the role will tackle. 4. Send a 3-line thank-you email within 24 hours Short. Polite. Specific. “Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today. I’m even more excited about [specific thing discussed]. Looking forward to the next steps.” That’s it. But it keeps you top of mind while they’re making decisions. The difference between “we’ll get back to you” and “when can you start?” is often just how memorable you were. At CareerX, we help professionals prepare for interviews, mock sessions, answer strategies, and how to position yourself so you’re unforgettable. Send a DM to get started 💙

Every year, we meet fresh Law graduates who say the same thing: “I wish someone told me this earlier.” They had good grades. They showed up for classes. But when it came to jobs, interviews, and opportunities, they realized they weren’t prepared for the real world. Here’s what they wish they did differently (and what you can still start doing now): 1. Build your CV early Don’t wait till NYSC. Every moot, volunteering, or mini-internship counts and recruiters look for initiative more than grades. 2. Network beyond the Law Faculty Your next opportunity might come from policy, business, or tech circles. The best lawyers understand more than just the law. 3. Practice writing, research & drafting Your ability to write and argue clearly will open more doors than any certificate ever will. 4. Take internships seriously Stop treating them as a checkbox. Each one is a test-run for your dream job, show up, ask questions, and leave an impression. 5. Learn a tech skill or language The legal world is changing fast. Knowing tech tools, data privacy, or even basic automation can set you apart globally. The difference between those who struggle after graduation and those who get ahead early is simple: They prepared before the stage changed. Don’t wait till it’s too late. CareerEx helps Law students and graduates build strong CVs, prep for internships, and position themselves for opportunities that actually matter. PS: Our 50% off CV and cover letters for law school student is still active💙

You get the offer because of how you positioned yourself right. That’s exactly what we help law graduates do at CareerEX. We review your applications to make sure they actually showcase your skills. Most people send one email and sit back, waiting to be chosen. Then they call it “I tried.” No, you didn’t. You just knocked once and hoped the door would swing open. I had a conversation with Tom Utum , founder of CareerEx Consulting , about this. He told me how he sent follow-up after follow-up to Banwo & Ighodalo until HR finally replied: “You can stop sending emails now. When do you want to start your internship?” That’s not luck. That’s pressure. That’s someone who decided: “You will see my name until you remember it.” Life is a numbers game. Especially when the seat you want is competitive. Talent is good, but persistence is loud, and loud gets remembered. If your next breakthrough was 10 unanswered attempts away… how fast would you go and collect those 10? Or would you sit still, protecting your ego, waiting for a clean, perfect win? Failure is not shame. It’s feedback. Treat it like such. Count your rejections if you have to — at least that way you know you’re in the arena. Closed mouths don’t get fed. Closed tabs don’t get replies. Send the email. Again.
