Traffic brought the city to a halt. But our team stayed in motion. The closure of a major bridge in Lagos threw Lekki and Ikoyi into gridlock, turning regular commutes into hours-long standstills. For many, it meant missed meetings, delayed plans, and a day that just didn’t go as expected. It was one of those days that tested the city and its transport systems. But for our riders, the experience played out differently. Our Pilots leaned on their knowledge of the roads, choosing smart alternatives that kept the ride as smooth as possible. The Marshals were right there too, helping riders stay informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout the journey. We made this video to share their perspective, the ones who kept things moving when everything else stood still. The traffic was intense, but so was the teamwork, and that made all the difference.

As we kick off Q2, I would like to reflect on a key initiative we launched in Q1: introducing CNG-powered vehicles into our fleet at Shuttlers which is the first step in our drive to transition our vehicles to more Climate friendly fleet (CNG & Electric powered vehicles). This move wasn't just a decision—it was about making a real impact for us, our customers, and the environment. When we embarked on the journey of exploring Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a viable option, we were met with the usual concerns—limited infrastructure, cost comparisons to petrol, and the perception that it’s not as effective. We introduced 20 new CNG-powered vehicles to our fleet—and the results speak for themselves. The Numbers Behind the Success: 🚍 At least 29% Savings for Our Users: The rising fuel cost has made transportation more expensive for everyone. Using CNG, we’ve passed on significant savings, reducing costs by at least 29% for our riders without sacrificing quality. 🚍 More Capacity, More Service: We’ve completed 19,292 user trips (4% of our total Q1 user trips) by fulfilling 1,484 trips with these CNG buses in just three months, providing more options and availability for our passengers. 🚍 A Greener Future: With 23.5 metric tons of CO₂ emissions already reduced in Q1, our CNG fleet is on track to eliminate 94 metric tons of CO₂ annually, a key contribution to cleaner air and a more sustainable urban environment. 🚍 Rider Satisfaction: Beyond the numbers, our riders have noticed the difference, too. With smoother rides, better seat quality, and overall improved comfort, the CNG fleet has helped us elevate the passenger experience. A primary concern we’ve heard? “Are CNG-powered vehicles safe? Aren’t they prone to explosions, leaks, or other risks?” Safety is always our top priority at Shuttlers. The CNG canisters are fireproof and equipped with automatic fire extinguishers that activate instantly in the rare event of a fire. Additionally, our QA team and pilots conduct regular inspections to ensure every CNG installation meets the highest safety standards, all these ensured we had 100% safe trips using these vehicles. At Shuttlers, we firmly believe in the power of innovation, sustainability and working together as a team internally & with our vehicle partners to deliver real value. Our commitment goes beyond implementing a cleaner fuel source—ensuring our efforts directly benefit our customers and the our entire ecosystem.
