𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐠𝐨𝐰, 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 21, 2025 Cefetra Ltd has become an implementation partner for the UK portion of a long-term strategic partnership between PepsiCo Europe and Soil Capital. Cefetra Ltd has entered into an agreement to accelerate the adoption of regenerative agriculture among rapeseed oil farmers in the UK. The agreement covers about 7000 ha of UK farmland. The initiative combines Cefetra’s role in the physical supply chain and farmer relationships with Soil Capital’s expertise and tools to support the implementation of more sustainable practices. Cefetra Ltd, in partnership with Soil Capital, will support PepsiCo's commitment to drive the adoption of regenerative, restorative, or protective practices across 10 million acres globally by 2030.   𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐊𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐋𝐭𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝: The agreement underlines that Cefetra Ltd as a supply chain manager has a key role to play in supporting UK and Irish farmers in their work to reduce their impact on emissions, water and biodiversity. With the support of consumers such as PepsiCo Europe we can combine our reach to farmers and the food and beverage industries with Soil Capital’s proven methodology and reporting framework to make a real difference. Cefetra supports farmers in their transitions by providing a way to monetize their interventions supported by providing a proven methodology and framework, agronomic advice and through the supply of inputs such as fertilizer, soil conditioners, seeds and technology. Farmers in the Cefetra /Soil Capital programme also gain access to tailored financing from leading Uk banks. 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐋𝐭𝐝: Cefetra Ltd, part of Cefetra Group, is a leading supplier of agricultural ingredients handling over around 5mln tons annually in the UK and Ireland with a strong on farm origination capability. The Cefetra Ecosystem Services initiative brings investment to regenerative farming by paying farmers for producing commodities with positive outcomes for Scope 3 impact, sustainability, water and biodiversity. Its aim is to bridge consumer demand for sustainably produced raw materials with the on-the-ground farming practices that help produce these commodities. For farmers, we provide a clear framework to access payments for sustainable practices. For consumers, we facilitate certified and verified in-supply chain Scope 3 reductions. The programme is at landscape level. It enrolls whole farms, involving entire crop rotations and long-term monitoring. Today’s discussions reminded us that sustainability is as much about mindset as it is about metrics. Paul Polman, former CEO of Unilever, captured it perfectly: there’s a growing gap between where business is today and where it needs to be on decarbonization, a gap often obscured by the noise of today's short-term political drama. One consumer brand shared an honest reflection: they don’t know if their sustainability commitments make people buy more of their products, but they’re certain people would buy fewer without them. And from a hotel chain, a refreshing insight: the famous “say–do” gap in consumer behavior fades away when sustainable options are presented credibly and transparently. Anna is a freelance journalist who has worked on Countryfile and authored "Divide", a book exploring the differences between rural and urban perspectives on farming. This is a fascinating subject for us, as Cefetra Ecosystem Services is dedicated to bridging that divide, aligning what farming wants and can deliver in terms of regenerative agriculture with the perspectives of the (largely) urban consumer of food. This represents an important step in advancing resilient, low-carbon supply chains while directly incentivising farmers to adopt verified sustainable practices. With the second cohort already 70% larger, the programme is scaling rapidly and demonstrating strong industry momentum. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲, 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 🌾🐟 Feed accounts for over 80% of aquaculture’s emissions, and most of that environmental impact actually starts on land. Together with BioMar, we’re building a connection between agriculture and aquaculture to reduce emissions at the source. By supporting UK farmers to adopt soil health practices and integrating their low-carbon crops into aquafeed, we’re seeing: ✅ Lower carbon footprints for both sectors ✅ Financial incentives for farmers ✅ Stronger, traceable supply chains ✅ Improved resilience and crop diversity for both sectors This collaboration strengthens the link from farm to fork, building a more sustainable future for food production.
