Which is more important, the journey or the destination? This week marked the end of an unforgettable chapter, filled with long nights driven by passion, shared challenges, and hard won victories. We completed every stage of the MotoStudent International Competition from static and dynamic scrutineering to tests, qualifying, and the final race among top teams. A faulty connection on the last lap cost us P6, leaving us with heartbroken to see our race slip away right at the end. But we still held our heads high. What defined us wasn't the result, but our dedication and the people behind the scenes. So, our answer is clear: it's not the journey or the destination, but the company. Cheers to a wonderful year! 🍻 As one chapter closes, another begins. EST 9.0 is already on the path to build and dream bigger. EST 8.0 signing out 🏁

Working with high-voltage on an electric superbike can be very dangerous, which is why our engineers followed a NEN 9140 training with Steftec Education. On this day they focused on critical skills like working with two-pole voltage systems, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), de-energizing electric vehicles, safely switching on e-vehicles, and much more. 🔥🔥 A special thanks to Steffen Elgersma for providing us with this training and sharing his expertise. Now we can ensure that we maintain the highest safety standards while continuing to innovate in the world of electric motorcycles. ⚡

What a comeback! After a long night, Mirage-EVO was back in action this yesterday morning ⚡️ At 11:15 we hit the track for testing, followed by two practice sessions and qualifications all in one intense day. With limited time to charge between runs, every lap had to count, and our engineers made sure it did. 🛑 Braking test: P4 (34.6 m) ⚡️ Acceleration: P15 (118.03 km/h) 🌀 Gymkhana: P18 (00:41.113) 🏁 Practice 1: 6 laps completed – P8 overall 💨 Practice 2: 2 laps for top speed 🔥 Qualification: P12 → straight to the final race! Yesterday was an incredible turnaround made possible by hard work, persistence, focus, and teamwork 💪 Today, the Mirage takes on the final race. Yesterday didn’t go as planned… Yesterday morning we successfully passed scrutineering, marking an important milestone for the team! ✅ After that, a few of our members presented our development process, design choices, and innovations to the MotoStudent judges showing the result of hard work. The plan was to continue with the dynamic tests in the afternoon…

🛑 80 km/h to full-stop braking Unfortunately, during preparations we discovered a malfunction in the safety system that had to be fixed before the bike could be used. Despite a thorough investigation, the issue couldn’t be resolved in time, meaning we did not participate in the test. But there was still hope. This day was nothing but eventful. We started the day with a practice session, where our rider experienced a safety warning. After investigating, we traced it back to a small issue in the bike’s power supply wiring. This was quickly fixed by our engineers 💪🏽🔥 With the Mirage back in top shape, we went into the dynamic scrutineering prepared and handed our bike to a rider supplied by the organisation. Unfortunately, he pushed it past our set RPM limit, triggering the safety shutdown and resulting in a temporary fail… After a retry at lower speed, we managed to partially pass and will continue improving our safety handling tomorrow to achieve a full pass. What a day at MotorLand Aragón ! 🏁
Yesterday marked the official start of MotoStudent International Competition 2025, where our team began with registration, setting up our pitbox, and preparing for the static scrutineering. To pass, our bike had to undergo a full series of tests. These included mechanical and electrical safety checks, regulation compliance, a load test, and a waterproof test. Initially, our chain cover didn’t meet the regulations, but thanks to the fast creativity of our engineers, the issue was quickly resolved. We are proud to share that Electric Superbike Twente has officially passed the static scrutineering! ✅

Zolder Test Recap 🏁 Last week, we hit the track at Circuit Zolder for a much anticipated test, and honestly, it was a huge success. We only had 20 minutes of track time, which meant the pressure was on. Every second counted. It really tested how well we could operate as one team, and we’re proud to say we delivered. From prep to pit coordination, every detail was planned out so we could make the most of those precious minutes on track. The bike clocked a top speed of 171 km/h, marking another solid milestone in our development. Of course, no proper test is complete without a few hiccups, we ran into a small ECU bug and noticed that some safety thresholds need fine-tuning. But that’s exactly what testing is for: finding the limits, learning fast, and improving even faster. Our rider Wouter van Wensveen gave us valuable feedback, and the focus throughout the day was all about team efficiency and speed, both on and off the track. Every test teaches us something new, and this one proved we’re ready to take things to the next level. 🏆 Next stop: MotoStudent International Competition 🏍️ We’ll see you on the grid at MotorLand Aragón, time to represent the first Dutch Team⚡🏍️
