Walter van Beirendonck x Garden of Deligths at the Kadriorg Art Museum, Tallinn (Estonia) | This autumn, the Kadriorg Art Museum in Tallinn presents 'Garden of Delights, The Seventeenth Century in Bloom', a major exhibition organised in collaboration with The Phoebus Foundation (Antwerp). From 30 August 2025, more than 300 works from the Foundation’s collection will be on view in Tallinn, offering an unprecedented exploration of nature and flowers in seventeenth-century art of both the Northern and Southern Netherlands. The scenography of Garden of Delights has been developed by Antwerp fashion designer Walter van Beirendonck. Oversized model flowers, specially designed carpets and contemporary silhouettes by Dries Van Noten, COMME des GARÇONS, Richard Quinn and Walter van Beirendonck himself create a striking dialogue with the old masters. ‘I have always been fascinated by animals, plants and flowers,’ Van Beirendonck explains. “When I was invited to work with these paintings, I immediately agreed. Showing old masters and contemporary fashion side by side may create a clash, but in the end it is always about beauty.’ Go & see Garden of Delights. Rapid prototyping just became high-speed prototyping. Our new prototyping facility is now fully operational. The time to move from design concept to final prototype is now reduced with 70%. This new facility at Hans Boodt Mannequins HQ in the Netherlands not only contributes to shortening product development lead times for our customers, but also provides the perfect playground for our R&D teams to validate new ideas, in addition to the in-house 3D print facility.

When everything comes together nicely. Something that is often overlooked and not celebrated enough is what happens behind the scenes. Here is a great example of a tremendous logistic operation that was executed in 10 days time. Between 7 and 30 July, over 13.000 mannequins were shipped, imported, palletised and delivered to over 1500 stores across the USA for a single client. A special shout out to Jeff T., Michel de Bruijn, Linda Hillebrandt at HBM HQ and team HBM USA Peter Ouwerkerk, Dakota Klingfuss to make this complex operation look like a walk in the park.
