𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘆 Today, we celebrate World Food Day with the theme set by the FAO: 'Hand in hand for better food and a better future.' Reflecting the power of partnerships in transforming agri-food systems and strengthening global food security. At Invest International, we support Dutch businesses that are driving transitions in agri- & food by creating impact through innovation, sustainability, and international growth. A few of the inspiring projects we’ve backed recently: ✅ Iribov is scaling up the production of disease-free vegetable plants in Ghana, helping improve food security and create 700 jobs. ✅ The Agricultural Commodity Transformation (ACT) Fund managed by the Common Fund for Commodities provides loans to small and medium sized enterprises, supporting the transition to regenerative farming in emerging markets. ✅ Edafos transforms agricultural waste into high value fertilizer which improves soil quality and contributes to better farming practices. ✅ The focus of Crafting Markets, a specialty cocoa importer and distributor, is on transferring knowledge to farmers and paying above farm gate prices for organic and specialty cocoa to increase living standards. These examples show how we work hand in hand with entrepreneurs, supply chain actors, governments, and knowledge institutions to enable sustainable business success. Want to know more? 🌍 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗶𝗼-𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 PLANTICS B.V. is on a mission to replace fossil-based plastics with a breakthrough bio-resin technology — sustainable, scalable, and already gaining traction in international markets. 💡 Why it matters: • Lower emissions: Plantics bio-resins store more carbon than chemical alternatives, cutting greenhouse gas emissions per kg produced. • Circular by design: Biodegradable polymers used for plywood, chipboards, plant pots, and foams can be recycled — the resins are reused in the same production process. • Future potential: With scale-up and commercialization, this technology could transform entire industries and advance SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production. 🚀 That’s why we’re proud to invest €2.75 million in growth financing to support Plantics in: • Scaling up production capacity • Expanding their sustainable product portfolio • Accelerating their international roll-out 🤝 We look forward to working with Wridzer Bakker and the Plantics team to make circular manufacturing the new standard. 👏 A big thank you to our dedicated deal team: Eelco Benink, Jordi Rustige, Megan Jones, Anniek van Veldhuizen, Rogier Eijkens, and Neha Chhabra and to our external legal counsel Benvalor for their excellent support.

𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 From transformative logistics to climate resilience, our role in the EU’s Global Gateway is shaping the future of infrastructure through strategic investment and collaboration. At the Global Gateway Forum 2025 we are showing what it looks like. Together with Melanie Maas Geesteranus, Leonie Van der Stijl and Lara De Graaff - Muller, alongside Team Europe and Team NL with Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) | Partner in Sustainable Development FMO - Dutch entrepreneurial development bankk,Atradius Dutch State Businesss. 🚧 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗿 One of the projects is the Lobito Corridor, a transformative logistics route linking Angola, DR Congo, and Zambia to the ports and trade hubs by the coast. It connects over eight million people to regional and global markets. Our part of the project focuses on the development of the Caála Logistics Platform in Angola, enabling farmers with access to the trade route. We help turn infrastructure into a dynamic trade and transport artery. At the Global Gateway Forum, we signed our commitment for the next step, with the European Commission (INTPA) and the Government of Angola and arccla angola. This project is a true co-creation. 🌊 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗼’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 West Africa’s bustling trade corridor between Lagos and Abidjan is increasingly threatened by erosion and flooding. Here, Dutch expertise in nature-based solutions is helping build resilient infrastructure with lasting social and environmental impact as part of the West Africa Coastal Areas (WACA) initiative. Scale and partnerships are still needed to find a more integrated approach along this coastline with large cities and crucial infrastructure. We stand ready to partner for more. Following the successful completion of phase one by Boskalis, phase two now moves into implementation with a total infrastructure scope of €55 million. Invest International is contributing €2 million for feasibility studies and €23 million for infrastructure, alongside Agence Française de Développement with €20 million and the Togolese Gouvernment, who are active co-financing partners. Together with the delegation of Togo, Boskalis and AFD, we celebrated the start of the work, another example of how strategic collaboration drives meaningful change.

🚀 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟲𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 Today in Johannesburg, Aukje de Vries, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in South Africa, attended the signing of the grant arrangement for the City of Johannesburg’s Alternative Waste Treatment Technology Project — marking an important milestone in South Africa’s transition toward sustainable waste management and renewable energy. We’re proud to announce that Invest International is supporting the project with a R550 million (€27.5 million) grant through the DRIVE programme, implemented on behalf of the Ministry for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands. This project brings together the Infrastructure Fund, the City of Johannesburg, and private-sector partners through a public-private partnership model. ♻️ The impact: Transforming waste into clean energy Each year, the project will divert 500,000 tonnes of waste from landfills — about 31% of Johannesburg’s annual waste — and convert residual waste into 28 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 60,000 households. It will also enable the recovery and recycling of 175,000 tonnes of waste annually, extending landfill lifespan and reducing methane emissions.

🌿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 Last week, Invest International signed an MoU with EcoShape to strengthen our collaboration on implementing Nature Based Solutions: solutions that build with nature to tackle challenges like climate change — for example, protecting coastlines with sand replenishment and dunes. 🔹 Why EcoShape? EcoShape is a Dutch network organisation that develops and shares knowledge about Building with Nature: a new philosophy in hydraulic engineering . This partnership allows us to access to a broad network of Nature Based Solutions expertise to support our portfolio of public infrastructure projects. 🔹 Proven partnership in practice We’re already working together to protect the West African coast — combining Dutch expertise with local climate resilience efforts, while building a shared knowledge base on Nature-based Solutions in practice. One example is our ongoing collaboration in Togo, where EcoShape supports the development of a monitoring system to observe coastal protection projects that include Nature Based Solution components along the West African coastline. Moving forward, we will work together to solve global challenges while broadening avenues and markets for Dutch businesses by providing much needed expertise, knowledge and technology for the implementation of Nature Based Solutions. This is just the beginning. We’re eager to see what solutions and impact this collaboration will unlock.✨ 📸 Have a look at the photos from the coastal protection project in Togo and of last week’s MoU signing!
