The highest point reached – and we're just getting started. 🏗️ Our new training facility, The Link, hit a significant milestone. Our fleet is set to expand, which means we need more training capacity for our pilots. That's where The Link comes in. Named after the Link Trainer – the world's first flight simulator from nearly a century ago – this four-storey building connects ground training with flying, and brings together everyone who keeps our operation running. The Link will house five advanced simulators and is built to the highest environmental standards: entirely gas-free, equipped with solar panels, heat pumps, and a partially green roof. ✈️ Sharing knowledge to strengthen the Netherlands   What can healthcare learn from aviation? Yesterday, we opened the doors of our simulator centre at Schiphol-East to the Technology Expert Panel of DUTCH (Digital United Training Concepts for Healthcare). This is where our cockpit and cabin crew train for every scenario imaginable. For decades, simulation has been at the heart of how we prepare our people – and now we're sharing those insights with the healthcare sector, where simulation-based training is still taking off.   Through our partnership with DUTCH, a ‘Nationaal Groeifonds’ initiative, we're helping shape innovative training programmes for healthcare professionals. Together, we're working towards a future with enough skilled people to care for us all.   The panel experienced our simulators first-hand and saw just how lifelike these training environments can be. "Being able to share our simulator training expertise with healthcare – where simulation is still relatively new – is incredibly valuable. Getting our first Airbus A350 simulator installed? That was quite the operation. 🏗️   Built by CAE in Canada, the 8,000 kg simulator was shipped in parts and lifted over the fence because it wouldn't fit through the gate. We removed a wall from our training facility to get it inside. Two weeks of assembly, six weeks of testing, and a final inspection by the Dutch Transport Authority later—it's ready to train our future A350 pilots. 🎮✈️   This is the first of two A350 simulators joining our training center, ensuring our crews are fully prepared to operate one of the most advanced aircraft in the sky. 🌎👩✈️👨✈️   #KLM #Airbus #A350
