✨ What really happens at a scientific conference? The new video by the Lorentz Centre takes you behind the scenes of the WE Heraeus – Lorentz workshop on “Superconductivity in symmetry-broken and low-dimensional systems”, held at Leiden University. Far from just listening to talks, physicists here collaborate, debate, and shape the future of superconductivity research. In this video, participants across career stages share their perspectives on three of today’s hottest topics: 🔹 Superconducting non-reciprocity 🔹 Gate-tuned superconductors 🔹 Layered / two-dimensional superconducting systems The result? An accessible, up-to-date snapshot of where the field is heading and why superconductivity remains one of the most exciting frontiers in physics. 👉 Watch the video to see how scientists turn discussion into discovery! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eG-eHtgY

🚀 Innovation Mission: Quantum in Aerospace Last week, our colleagues Ulrich Mans Julia Oesterling (Feddersen) were the delegation leaders during a four-day Netherlands Enterprise Agency Innovation Mission, exploring the future of quantum technologies in the aerospace sector with stops at Germany’s leading quantum and aerospace institutions in Stuttgart, Ulm, and Munich. This mission supported cross-border collaboration, especially at the intersection of research and industrial application. Collaborations on the topic of quantum in aerospace will be further facilitated with the trilateral TechBridge program that launched beginning of this month: https://lnkd.in/eke4jTFB For a full overview of the mission check out the news article here: https://lnkd.in/epV866UF Many thanks to all the German hosts: QuantumBW, Munich Quantum Valley, Bosch Quantum Sensing, DLR Institute of Quantum Technologies, TESAT, planqc, Airbus, Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) and the ministries and partners that welcomed us with open arms! We would also like to thank the Dutch delegation members from Airbus, Demcon, Fermioniq, NAG Advancing your Aerospace and Airport Business, NLR - Netherlands Aerospace Centre, PiCard Systems, QAIMS lab, Qubitrium, Single Quantum, TNO, TOPIC Embedded Systems, University of Amsterdam for their valuable participation in this mission. 🇳🇱 Investments in quantum companies in the Netherlands increased sixteenfold. Impressive, but now it’s time to accelerate. With elections approaching, Quantum Delta NL today launches The State of Quantum: a data-driven snapshot of the Dutch quantum ecosystem in 2025. In just five years private investment grew from €10 million to €160 million, the number of quantum start-ups rose to 29 and patent applications grew by a factor of 5. This growth is no coincidence. Since 2021, Quantum Delta NL has united research, talent, entrepreneurship, and manufacturing across five hubs in Delft, Eindhoven, Leiden, Twente, and Amsterdam, with support from the National Growth Fund. 🌟 Amsterdam Light Festival Edition 14: When Light Meets Quantum 🌟 From 27 November 2025 to 18 January 2026, the 14th edition of Amsterdam Light Festival (ALF) will once again transform the city into a glowing open-air museum. This year’s theme, Legacy, feels especially fitting - as Amsterdam celebrates its 750th anniversary and the world marks the UN’s International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. In honour of these milestones, ALF’s annual Education Project takes a scientific twist through a special collaboration with Quantum Delta NL (QDNL). Together, we’re connecting art, science, and imagination to inspire Amsterdam’s youngest minds. 🎭 On 30 October 2025, 1,500 pupils from Amsterdam primary schools participating in the Education Project will experience a one-of-a-kind quantum theatre show, hosted by a presenter from KRO-NCRV. And developed by ALF, QDNL and AL3 Qlabs. Through an immersive and playful performance, children will explore the mysteries of quantum physics - and learn how light itself behaves in surprising ways. 💡 Their discoveries will then take shape as light artworks, displayed as part of ALF Edition 14: Legacy. In this way, the next generation’s creativity will quite literally light up the city, adding their voices to Amsterdam’s ongoing story. ✨ A celebration of curiosity, creativity, and connection - from quantum particles to city lights. 🔗 Read more about this fascinating education project: https://lnkd.in/eBTJgWnk #AmsterdamLightFestival #QuantumDeltaNL #YearOfQuantum #Amsterdam750 #Education #ArtsAndScience Centre for Quantum and Society
