SEG recently welcomed around thirty students from the Johan Cruyff Academy (part of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences) to its headquarters in Amsterdam. The visit gave the students a valuable behind-the-scenes look at the sports industry. As part of their studies, the students explore topics such as creating brand value, the importance of authenticity in branding and how to position athletes as marketable brands. They are currently working on an assignment in which they develop a marketing plan aimed at building a strong personal brand around a specific athlete. The programme provides students with a strong theoretical base, and SEG helped bring that to life with real examples from the sports industry. General Counsel Luc Houten gave the students an inside look at the role of a football agent, while Content & Social Media Manager Wouter Hermans shared SEG’s experience in brand building for top-level athletes, particularly in football. The session aligned perfectly with the curriculum and helped students connect their newly acquired knowledge to tangible, real-life examples. It was the second time that students from the Johan Cruyff Academy visited SEG and once again, it was seen as a valuable experience by everyone involved, including SEG itself. “It’s great to see how engaged and curious this new generation of students is.” said Luc Houten afterwards. “For SEG, it’s a fantastic opportunity to share knowledge and stay connected with the next generation of professionals.'

SEG and football agency M4P join forces SEG is pleased to announce that agents Melvin Plet and Tom Brouwer of football agency M4P have joined SEG as of 1 April. Melvin and Tom bring with them their client portfolio, along with many years of experience and expertise. M4P (Management 4 Players) is a respected football agency that has been making steady progress in the industry. Former professional footballer Melvin Plet (50) and lawyer Tom Brouwer (44), together with two other FIFA-licensed agents, represent a range of players and coaches both in the Netherlands and abroad – including Sipke Hulshoff, assistant coach at Liverpool F.C., and Albert Stuivenberg, assistant coach at Arsenal F.C. SEG names Bill O’Shea new CFO The board of talent management agency SEG has named Bill O’Shea (60) as the new Chief Financial Officer, effective 31 March 2025. Bill brings to SEG over thirty years of leadership experience in financial management, treasury operations, financial planning & reporting, and strategy and acquisition integration. Prior to joining SEG, he held CFO roles in privately-owned international business groups based in the Middle East, as well as in Europe.
