A Vision Cocktail Lunch Symposium
From August 20 - 23, 2025, the 37th Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (APACRS) Annual Meeting brought the ophthalmology community together in Ahmedabad, India. This year’s congress was a true celebration of innovation, global expertise, and
collaboration.
One of the most talked-about sessions of the meeting was the Teleon Lunch Symposium, presented in a unique
Vision Cocktail Lounge format. Renowned surgeons from across the globe came together to mix clinical insights,
practical experience, and fresh perspectives into a powerful recipe for the future of cataract and refractive surgery.

Can capsulotomy fixation help prevent PCO?
This paper traces its origins back to a roundtable discussion at this year’s APAO in Delhi on the FEMTIS IOL. The common assumption has been that its special fixation on the capsulorhexis improves centration but increases the risk of PCO. Our findings suggest the opposite.
In our latest review, we report on PCO rates and provide a pathophysiological explanation for why PCO is actually less common with this IOL design.
