European Commission, let’s cut to the chase.. 👇 Your plan to delay the #EUDR by another 12 months, all because of an IT issue? Not good enough. Deforestation is out of control. We need the European Union Deforestation Regulation to hold companies accountable for ensuring their supply chains are deforestation-free. And we need it now. Of course, a solid IT system is essential – but this shouldn’t keep us from moving forward. Pragmatic enforcement + clear guidance can already provide the support we need to protect our forests. 🌳✅ At Tony’s, we exist to end exploitation in the cocoa industry, including #deforestation. And we prove every day that supply chain due diligence is possible. But we need this bold #legislation to drive industry-wide change, raising the floor so all companies can follow suit. The potential of pulp? We thought you'd never ask.. 👀 Right now, lots of cacao pulp is being discarded. Which isn’t just super wasteful, but also means cocoa farmers are missing out on extra income, while many are stuck living below the poverty line.. That’s where Kumasi Drinks comes in. Together with the Chocolonely Foundation, ETG and Beyond Beans Foundation, they’re opening the first-ever (!!) cacao fruit juice factory in Côte d’Ivoire, which will.. 💵 .. increase the income of 5,000 cocoa farmers 🌍 .. move more of the cocoa value chain to Côte d’Ivoire, where 50% of all cocoa is grown Now that's what we call makin’ JUICY impact.
