PREDICTOM - IHI project is recruiting healthy people who are based in UK, Norway, Spain, Geneva, Germany, France and Brussels. Are you interested in our study? Are you uncertain about the tests involved? Why do we have these tests? Are they able to detect early-signs of dementia? To take you insde our study, explore the different tests and methods involved, we will publish a series of news articles dedicated to the PREDICTOM clinical study. In the first article of the series, we are presenting the hearing test. #35AEC bring multisectoral actors' attentions to #Alzheimer's diseases. With this opportunity, PREDICTOM - IHI project members presented their great works in the conference. 💪 Together, we aim at develop an open-source, interoperable and customisable biomarker screening platform, utilizing an existing online resource to save time and money, to generate an evidence base for general population screening for Alzheimer's Diseases and related disorders. #MRI scanning is very costly and time-consuming in current clinical practices. PREDICTOM - IHI project introduces a promising method to dramatically accelerate multi-contrast brain MRI scans, without sacrificing image quality. This promising method can potentially save scanning times up to 67% ⏲️ This work is contributed by Natascha Niessen, PhD student at GE HealthCare and Technical University of Munich https://lnkd.in/dJNh3Jpq

🤔 Day 2 - brainstorming When we have cross-disiplinaries in the project, how can we harmonize data (Bio & imaging)? How will the algorithm extract features that can be useful for different disciplines? How will data be integrated into PREDICTOM - IHI project Platform? How can we incoroperate sustainability to achieve affordability, availability, and accessibility (3A)? 💪 Thanks to all partners' commitment. Together, we unravel the complex challenges and puzzle out!
Day 2 of the PREDICTOM Annual Consortium Meeting brought valuable exchange and alignment across partners. Key discussions focused on: - Streamlining processes along the patient journey - Building consensus on the analytics database - Presenting our approach to identify high-risk and low-risk dementia populations - Exploring our publication strategy, with ambitious plans to report and disseminate project outputs effectively and on time A highlight was the input from our Scientific Advisory Board, guiding discussions on sustainability and strategies for the wide adoption of the results. A hands-on workshop took place, where clinical partners received training on the Hearing test, the Eye Tracking, and the EEG test - which promise to yield important dementia-related markers. We at Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), Multimedia Knowledge and Social Media Analytics Laboratory - MKLab, Brain, Health & Virtual Reality Group were excited to host this year’s meeting and look forward to continuing with the next steps in PREDICTOM. Thank you Brain, Health & Virtual Reality Group for hosting PREDICTOM - IHI project 3rd General Assembly. We are very happy for the interests from IHI-PROMINENT & AD-RIDDLE for potential collaboration. Together, we can maximise Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) impacts and goals.
Day 1 of the PREDICTOM Consortium Annual Meeting set the stage for exciting collaboration and progress! We kicked off with engaging discussions through the triple+ IHI initiative, with participation from PROMINENT and AD-RIDDLE projects. Together, we explored ways to leverage common ground, join forces, and save cost, energy, and time. In interactive breakout sessions, partners responsible for biomarkers, algorithms and models, the platform, the ongoing study, public involvement, guidelines and dissemination worked in smaller groups to: ● Present overall progress ● Highlight challenges around data collection and analysis ● Define next-step priorities From these discussions, we identified key topics for our in depth discussions on Day 2: Mapping the participant journey Deriving and presenting multimodal results Data sharing Looking beyond PREDICTOM As recruitment in the context of the PREDICTOM study progresses and data collection advances, we are excited to move towards analysis and sharing results, with the ambition to shape and contribute meaningfully to the discussion on early dementia detection. Partner Pharmacoidea Ltd. in PREDICTOM - IHI project has managed to patented its dignostics approach based on SDC3. Well done!
In celebration for World #Alzheimer's Day (21st Sep), PREDICTOM - IHI project is presenting you a novel blood-based biomarker - Syndecan-3 (SDC3). 📒 The diagnostic approach based on SDC3 expression is already patented (European patent EP4185874) 🧠 Our findings suggest that SDC3 could serve as a valuable addition to the Alzheimer’s biomarker toolkit. It reflects a distinct immune remodeling process that may be central to the disease.

At PREDICTOM - IHI project, we aim to explore promising biomarkers of #Alzheimer's diseases. Read our news about #EEG as potential non-invasive biomarker. https://lnkd.in/drh5VvJT
🧠 The earliest signs of #Alzheimer's disease are so subtle that even though a person might sense that their cognitive abilities are declining, standard tests will tell them that everything is fine. 🏥 Now PREDICTOM - IHI project has demonstrated that a type of brain scan called an EEG (electroencephalogram) can distinguish between healthy people and people with very subtle symptoms of the disease. 👵 The discovery suggests that EEGs could help doctors spot signs of Alzheimer’s earlier than traditional tests and examinations; this is important because EEGs are low-cost and widely accessible, and could even be used in the home. ✅ The results advance PREDICTOM's efforts to identify non-invasive ways of detecting Alzheimer's disease early on.
