50 in 5 - Auror’s New Mission! Over the past decade, we’ve focused on helping retailers and law enforcement understand the true problem and scale of retail crime. We built a community that is now effectively working together to tackle retail crime and collaborating to focus on high-harm, repeat offenders. But our work is just beginning and it’s time to update our mission with a renewed purpose as we build the next generation of technology for public safety: 🚨 Reducing violent retail crime by 50% in 5 years. 🚨 We know that globally, 1 in every 10 retail crime events involves assault, aggression or weapons. We also know that 10% of offenders are responsible for 60% of retail crime, and these prolific, repeat offenders are 3x more likely to be violent in stores. This mission is about people. It’s about keeping frontline retail workers safe, creating safer stores, and reviving our communities. We’re working closely with our retail and law enforcement partners to drive real, measurable change and I’m excited to keep sharing our progress and the all tech innovation we’ll be bringing to this challenge. Let’s get to work. #RetailCrime #PublicSafety #50in5

We believe the responsible use of technology — including AI — is the key to building safer stores and communities. According to a new report from our partners at Axis Communications, 66% of senior execs and management see AI as the most significant industry trend. This reflects what we’re seeing too: retailers are turning to AI to help prevent harm, not just respond to it. Research from Zebra Technologies also shows half of retailers plan to use AI-based analytics for loss prevention in the next 1-3 years. At Auror, we use AI to support public safety — not to replace decision-making. Our AI helps identify the small group of repeat offenders causing the most harm, so loss prevention teams can act quickly and confidently. Features like Suggested Merges ensure there’s always a human in the loop, verifying matches and maintaining control. AI is a tool. People and partnerships are the power. Check out the full AI report by our friends at Axis: https://lnkd.in/e23T9mfE #ai #lossprevention #retail #retailcrime

Scottsdale 😎 We held our 2025 NA Connect Summit in Arizona this year to share and learn from retailer leaders. "What makes this event powerful is the networking... that connection is what we're doing this for." - Rhod Thomas, Chief Commercial Officer at Auror We often talk say it takes a network to defeat a network. The human relationships are just as important to that network as the AI-powered connections Auror helps retailers and law enforcement build. "Auror Connect is all about bringing people into one room together to problem solve, think about the future, and actually just share ideas. Mission 2025 for us: safer stores, safer communities." - Phil Thomson, CEO & Co-founder of Auror Learn from LP industry leaders Rory Stallard and Richard Peck, LPC and Aurors Bobby HaskinsAlaina Kring, CPhT, Rhod Thomas, and Phil Thomson in this two-minute recap. We hope to Connect with you at our next event. 👀 #lossprevention #retail #retailsafety

Today some of my team & I were in #Barnstaple supporting staff from Boots UK with a new #crime #prevention initiative. Utilising forensic marking solution #SmartWater on fragrance tester bottles, we hope to reduce the amount being stolen by local #thieves. Fragrance #testers are an item that #criminals in the town have targeted. Because of the relentless reporting from this store within Auror, it has enabled #policing to understand the scale of the problem being faced and work towards preventative solutions. By marking fragrance bottles (that are never sold) with SmartWater, we will be able to attribute them to the exact store they came from and prove that it is in fact #stolen property. The solution, once applied, illuminates when placed under a UV light and is incredibly difficult to remove, (hopefully) deterring anyone from #stealing them. Will this stop the volume of fragrance tester thefts in store? I don't know, I hope so, but if you're found with one in the street or have bought one on the cheap - you run the risk of being involved in a criminal #investigation for handling stolen goods. What this also shows, and is the most important part for me, is a commitment to working with our #retailers to try some new things. It is proving to those in store who are spending the time reporting & logging events, that we are watching and we are beginning to utilise the intelligence you create in our efforts to reduce the impact of #crime against #businesses. Thank you to Lauren Fairbairn for her support in getting this initiative into the store, as well as battling through the Dartmoor traffic to make it to #NorthDevon! #CrimePrevention Phil Bance Gary Charles Nathan Crossman Mark Gleeson Paul Fagg Joe Champness Dave Lewis (Trig) DeterTech | UK & IE National Business Crime Centre Patrick Holdaway

Imagine cashiers starting their shifts by reviewing a retail crime intelligence feed on iPads and, within hours, they recognize individuals who have previously impacted their store. Daryl Blackmore shared this profound impact of equipping frontline teams with real-time intelligence at the Retail Council of Canada Secure conference. Kiwi retailers saw a 10% jump in weapon use in retail crime events last year, putting more frontline workers and customers at risk. This data comes from retail crime reports entered into Auror last year.  Who is causing this crime? “The top 10% of offenders caused more than 60% of total harm and loss in New Zealand communities last year." -Phil Thomson, Auror CEO and co-founder  We're on a mission to reduce violent retail crime by 50% in 5 years — in New Zealand and around the world.  Understanding the scale and nature of this challenge is the first step towards creating safer environments for retail teams, shoppers, and our community. ➡️ Read more about worker safety in NZ: https://lnkd.in/g2FWwRuf #RetailCrime #NewZealand #CommunitySafety
