Referrals need to come naturally ✅ Go to networking and events, online or in person ✅ Set up virtual and in-person coffees and catch-ups ✅ Email past clients and associates - personally ✅ Send a few carefully chosen, warmly written cold emails (or even post!) ✅ Tell people in your communities that you're looking for work ✅ Remind people of what you actually do Fastest way to get some biz flowing is direct to person interaction. Business owner tip No. 1: Give a shit. Stop worrying about whether a client is paying for "all the bells and whistles." Just do good work. I don't care if a client’s budget is tight or if we're not making our usual margins. If someone wants our help—and we agree to work with them—we’re going to do the work right no matter what. Because I'd rather lose a client who says "I can't afford you" than one who says "They didn't deliver." Your reputation outlasts every single project.
