J29 Expands Federal Health Mission with New DHS USCIS Prime Contract

J29, Inc. (J29) is proud to announce a new prime contract award with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), an agency within the Department of Homeland Security. Under this new engagement, J29 will support the Field Operations Directorate’s National Benefits Center (NBC) as apart of the Civil Surgeon Credential Verification program.

In backing of the Civil Surgeon Credential Verification program, J29 will perform various analytics, review, evaluation, and verification techniques to ensure that all Civil Surgeon’s who are seeking enrollment or presently enrolled within the DHS program are appropriately analyzed to ensure enrollment compliance. Leveraging J29’s various provider credentialing technologies, data sets, and subject matter expertise, J29 is eager to support the USCIS mission where our team will begin unveiling our provider compliance services.

Since company inception in 2017, J29 has been serving health and human service missions at the commercial, State, and Federal levels where our team focuses on processing, reviewing, and analyzing claims, cases, disputes, and audits. As an employee-centered healthcare management consulting company, J29 strives itself on being a people-first and employee-focused company, empowering our team to do great things for those that need it most. With this USCIS award, J29 will begin these operations alongside current programs that are supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Department of Labor (DOL), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

The USCIS is the federal agency responsible for administering the nation’s lawful immigration system, ensuring the integrity and security of immigration processes. As part of its mission, USCIS oversees the Civil Surgeon program, which designates qualified physicians—known as Civil Surgeons—to conduct immigration medical examinations required for certain applicants seeking immigration benefits. These medical exams are a critical safeguard, helping USCIS confirm that applicants meet health-related standards set by U.S. law. By maintaining a network of vetted Civil Surgeons and verifying their credentials, USCIS upholds public health, program integrity, and the trust of those navigating the immigration process.

“At J29, we know that protecting the health of our communities starts with accountability-and we are grateful to begin supporting USCIS in that mission. This is our first time partnering with USCIS, and we are proud to bring our expertise to help ensure the integrity of the immigration process and the well-being of those it serves.” — Tracy Mills, CEO and Founder of J29, Inc.

The Civil Surgeon program underpins the integrity of immigration medical screening. By validating licensure status, tracking expirations, and surfacing adverse actions rapidly, J29’s support helps USCIS protect applicants, safeguard program integrity, and sustain operational efficiency across the national network of designated Civil Surgeons.
