Each September, National Preparedness Month serves as a reminder to plan ahead now to minimize the impact of disaster in the future. Launched by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in 2004, this month-long campaign encourages individuals and businesses to develop emergency plans and educate ourselves on potential threats – before we’re faced with them.
As an industry, we know all too well that disaster, and disruption, for that matter, can come at any time – and in any form.
It could be in the form of a cyberattack, as other carriers have experienced this past year. A fraudster that targets your family or your business. Or, a sudden weather event that throws an unexpected curveball and disrupts business.
In this September issue of Donegal’s quarterly Agent Newsletter, you’ll hear from those who know best on why planning ahead is critical. And, while it may feel overwhelming, there are plenty of small steps you can take now to mitigate future fallout.
As you read through the following pages, we encourage you to share any feedback, including ideas for topics you’d like to see included in future issues. Whether it be industry trends, news from your agency or important team member milestones that deserve a shoutout – we’d love to hear about it.
