What would make a Ruby meetup go from “pretty good” to “actually awesome”? 🤔 We believe that if you want to build the community you need to work with the community. 🤝 So some time ago we asked this exact question on our Discord. It turns out the thing that’s most often missing is the community vibe. Talks are what bring people in – but the vibe is what makes them stay. Ok, but what’s that vibe? - space to talk – time to connect – a feeling that this is your event, not just a conference room with slides How to build the community vibe? Some ideas came up: - more time to chat after talks, - encouraging people to speak up even if they're unprepared, - creating an environment where sharing is easy, even if it's messy or basic, - making sure everyone feels welcome the second they walk in. But here’s the thing - no one has a perfect recipe. So let’s figure it out together - how do you build a community vibe at meetups? Drop your ideas below 👇 #ruby #meetup #community #rubyeurope Oh! And make sure to join our Discord not to miss any future discussions!

⏰ Just a few hours left until the Ruby + AI Meetup in Berlin! We’re beyond excited, especially after the London event proved just how powerful the combo of Ruby and AI can be. It’s not just a hot topic. It’s something that’s shaping the future of how we build, think, and solve problems in tech. The response to this event? Way beyond what we expected. We’ve got almost twice as many sign-ups as the venue can handle! Even after stretching capacity to the max! 🔥 But with a lineup like this it's not a surprise! Talks by Paweł Strzałkowski and Chris Hasiński are packed with insights that promise to spark new ideas and inspire action. 🚀 IMPORTANT INFO! 👉 If you’ve secured a spot, make sure to be there by 5:30 PM - the place will be packed, and those extra 30 minutes will help us all get settled in. 👉 If you’re on the waiting list - hang tight! We’ve got a strong feeling we’ll be back in Berlin again soon. 😉 🚨 And if you’re registered but can’t make it, please cancel your spot. That way, someone else from the community can join in. Let’s not let any seats go to waste! We can’t wait to see you there! 👋 https://lu.ma/286b35qd #ruby #meetup #rubyeurope #AI

There’s really only one word to sum up the Ruby + AI Meetup in London: WOW! 🔥 We’re still blown away by this amazing evening full of good vibes, sharp minds, and inspiring conversations. Big thanks to everyone who showed up! All the spots were snapped up just a few days after the event was announced - the response was incredible! Huge shoutout to our speakers: 💡 Paweł Strzałkowski 💡 Yorick Jacquin 💡 Sergey Sergyenko Each of you brought something unique to the table and sparked some awesome ideas around combining Ruby with AI. 🔥 Massive thanks to Fresha for welcoming us into their beautiful office - you made the whole thing possible, and we couldn’t have asked for a better space or vibe. As Mariusz Koziel said: “Many participants discovered for the first time that active local meetups like LRUG and Ruby in London exist. We hope this visibility will bring more people into the fold and strengthen the local community! That’s what Ruby Europe is all about.” And the best part? The question we kept hearing all evening was: “When are you coming back to London?” Hopefully very soon. 😉 #rubyeurope #ruby #ai #meetup #london

Why build a Discord community for Ruby Europe? It’s not that people keep asking us this outright, but we can feel this is an important question. Over the years, we’ve had dozens or even hundreds of amazing Ruby events. meetups, conferences, workshops. Inspiring talks, excited faces, deep conversations. And then… nothing. 😒 No shared space. No way to follow up. The energy disappears. What’s left is just a blurry memory of “that great event” that could have sparked something more but didn’t. We don’t want to keep repeating that cycle. ❌ Instead, we want to help people stay connected - before, during, and long after an event. Because that’s the only way to "transform moments to a real momentum". Events are amazing. But at the end of the day community is what makes them matter in the long run. 🤝 So come hang out! Link in comments.👇 P.S What do you think is the best way to engage our Discord community? #ruby #community #rubyeurope
