Dr. Barbosa completed a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Health Sciences, Infectious Disease and Tropical Medicine, at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He also completed an Internal Medicine Chief Residency at MetroWest Medical Center. His Fellowship was completed in Infectious Diseases at Boston Medical Center. In addition to his many professional memberships such as the Infectious Disease Society of North America and his various committee assignments, including the Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship, Dr. Barbosa has received many honors and awards. His area of interests include general diagnostic and treatment services, complex infections and identification of risk factors.
