Energy storage is one of the tipping points of energy transition. From small-scale batteries to large scale systems, we are helping to shape the future of energy. Projects like the one installed at Bondalti – an industrial partner who will have a 12 MWh battery storage system; or the stand-alone Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS), such as the Harrington Franklin project, demonstrate how our energy storage technologies guarantee efficient, reliable and accessible energy. We are proud to announce a landmark long-term contract between EDP and McDonald's in Brazil: over 150 restaurants will now be powered by solar energy from EDP’s Novo Oriente solar park. With a capacity of 319 MWp, an annual issuance of over 61,000 renewable energy certificates (I-RECs) and an avoidance of roughly 3,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) per year, this partnership demonstrates how large-scale corporate collaboration can accelerate a greener future. For EDP Group, this is another milestone in our global mission: to lead the energy transition, deliver clean power across borders and empower companies worldwide to reach their sustainability targets. Poverty is one of the main threats millions of people face, and with it comes exclusion, poor living conditions, lack of energy and lack of opportunities. To fight poverty is a global mission, the first of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, as it can be a spark for change in several other aspects of life. In this International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, a date celebrated since 1992, we remind ourselves of this mission, this pledge EDP has also made. Through programs such as the A2E Fund, the EDP Hope Fund, The Energy Solidarity and the EDP Solar Solidarity, we support renewable energy projects, social empowerment initiatives and groundbreaking ideas that aim to foster exclusion, living conditions, health, education, entrepreneurship, sustainability and the environment. 15 projects have been selected for the EDP Hope Fund Investment Program, and we are very excited with all the impact they will generate in the world. Spanning from nine countries - Colombia, Spain, United Kingdom, Peru, Germany, Kenya, Guatemala, India and Brazil - their reach goes way beyond those borders, acting in communities and regions in all continents. Solar and wind energy, waste management and recycling, excess food redistribution and education are some of the areas where the EDP Hope Fund finalists act, but their goal and commitment is the same: to promote a fair and inclusive energy transition, leaving no one behind. At EDP, we are proud to support them in their next journey. With the help of Ashoka and Bridge for Billions, these companies will receive training to improve their projects and deliver a great pitch in December, when EDP will choose up to 3 winners to receive funding and create an even greater impact. #EDPWeChooseEarth #HopeFund #SocialImpact

EDP, through EDP Renewables APAC, has secured support from the Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS) to fast-track two flagship hybrid projects in Australia: Punchs Creek in Queensland and Merino in New South Wales. Together, these projects will provide 1.7GW of new solar and battery capacity in Australia, which is enough to power 380,000 homes during peak demand, while creating more than 1,600 local jobs and delivering AUD 17M in shared benefits for communities and First Nations people. Australia remains a strategic growth market for EDP in APAC, with a pipeline of ~4GW and strong momentum toward our 2GW ambition by 2030.
