Launched last week from the Sky ecosystem with up to $2.5 billion to deploy, Keel is designed to catalyze the growth of DeFi and RWA markets on Solana. Keel aims to initially play three key roles in the ecosystem: First, as a stablecoin liquidity layer, working with partner DEXs to improve swap liquidity for stables, yield bearing stables and RWAs. This means larger swaps with lower slippage, across a whole new basket of stablecoins and RWAs, and unblocking the day-one liquidity hurdle, making it possible to launch new products and RWAs at scale. Second, as a dynamic onchain capital allocator - Keel will integrate with existing Solana lending markets to provide deep, responsive lending liquidity. This means institutional-scale depth for stablecoin lending, and more consistent, more stable DeFi rates, both of which enable lending on Solana at scale. Finally, as a catalyst and enabler for RWAs and other tokenized strategies on Solana through institutional scale buying of assets, and acting as a bridge between TradFi and DeFi, removing points of friction for institutions and issuers. This means increased availability of RWAs across Solana DeFi, bolstering the market with new yield opportunities and a greater diversity of options.
