This report offers a detailed analysis of the gaming and mobile gaming markets, drawing on various data sources and featuring key insights from Q1–Q2 2025 (including genre and country shifts in Q1-Q2 2025). According to worldwide data from Sensor Tower (excluding China)📲, mobile gaming revenue in the first half of 2025 remained consistent with the same period in 2024. However, this revenue stability is contrasted by a decline in game downloads across both iOS and Android. This trend indicates a market shift towards a smaller number of highly monetized titles. At the same time, it is becoming harder to engage users. Game development studio Shortgun Games has successfully secured $1 million in seed funding from group of angel investors and a family office. The investment will be directed towards the pre-production and development of the game’s MVP. Additionally, the funds will support strategic, need-based hiring to enhance the team primarily based in India. Founded in 2021 by Jeet Chandan and Vidhit Mehta, Shortgun Games is a next-generation studio focused on creating India’s first genre-defying third-person shooter for PC and console. The studio combines expertise in interactive storytelling, cinematic action, and high production values to deliver a unique gaming experience.
