Young girls and women deserve access to accurate, judgment-free information about their bodies. ❤️ 👉Swipe through this carousel to discover some of the menstrual health myths we collected from learners in different schools. Many girls feel ashamed to ask teachers whether what they hear at home or from peers is true. As a result, they often rely on misinformation to explain the natural processes of the female body. 🤯One of the most common myths we encounter in Rwanda is the belief that menstruation is a “disease.” Labeling it this way fuels fear and confusion, instead of helping young people understand their bodies and care for themselves during their periods. 💡Through our menstrual health management (MHM) sessions, we provide accurate information about the menstrual cycle and actively work to break stigma. 👨👩👧👦 We engage girls and boys, and families where applicable because building a healthy generation starts with understanding, not fear.
