A powerful gathering of minds, technology, and purpose — MIMA 2025 in Riyadh We had the pleasure of co-hosting the Intelligent Operations Roundtable alongside our partners at Microsoft and Roland Berger — a key moment in advancing the dialogue around smart manufacturing in the Kingdom. We were honored to welcome Dr. Ahmed Al-Zawawi, Assistant Deputy Minister for Competitiveness and Advanced Manufacturing in Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and CEO of the Advanced Manufacturing and Production Center (AMPC). In his keynote, Dr. Alzawawi spotlighted AMPC’s national role in driving innovation, aiming to contribute SAR 25 billion to the industrial sector by 2030. He also shed light on the Future Factories Program, a pivotal initiative helping manufacturers across the country become more efficient, cost-effective, and globally competitive. The roundtable featured dynamic conversations on the future of operations, with insights from Pieter C. Niehues, Ayman Al-Takrori, and Dr. Luluh Aldhubayi on how AI and predictive tools are reshaping supply chains, asset performance, and real-time decision-making, as well as Basma AlBuhairan, PhD and Gabriella Borgovan, who explored strategies for scaling GenAI across production networks and integrating modern digital layers into existing industrial systems. We were also proud to present the MIMA 2025 Sustainability Award, where Mahmoud El Gokhy shared the Diehl Metering case study developed with Abunayyan Holding — a great example of how AI is already reducing water loss and making infrastructure smarter.
