How can green #hydrogen accelerate the #electrification of heavy industry? Sectors such as steel production and #aviation are among the most challenging to transition due to their complex energy needs. Yet, the shift is already taking shape — powered by innovation, collaboration, and renewable hydrogen. At the Innovation Summit Copenhagen 2025, Claes Fredriksson, CEO and Founder of Liquid Wind, will join representatives from Stegra, Arcadia eFuels, Hitachi Energy, and Schneider Electric to discuss how green hydrogen can enable the electrification of industrial processes and drive meaningful reductions in emissions. 📅 23 October 2025 🕐 13:00–13:45 (Forum Theatre 2) 📍 Bella Center Copenhagen – Entrance 6 💡 Learn more and register here: https://lnkd.in/dynMYggt #sustainability #GreenHydrogen #GreenTech #CleanTech #EnergyTransition #eFuel #eFuels #eMethanol

The Net-Zero Framework (#NZF) is a once-in-a-generation opportunity. By sending clear and durable signals in favour of scalable, zero-emission #eFuels, the International Maritime Organization (#IMO) can ensure that global #shipping not only transitions its fuel mix to reduce greenhouse gas emissions — but does so in a cost-effective and sustainable way. In a joint letter, 27 leading green fuel producers — including Liquid Wind — urge the IMO to adopt the NZF and establish strong, deliberate incentives for eFuels, including an eFuels multiplier to ensure renewable, hydrogen-based fuels such as #eMethanol can compete on equal terms with LNG and first-generation biofuels. The decisions made now will determine how fast the shipping sector transitions — and whether sustainable fuels can scale to meet global demand. The right policy framework will unlock investment, accelerate deployment, and enable eFuels to thrive within the maritime sector. 👉 Read the open letter here: https://lnkd.in/dx5cyGqS T&E #GHG #GreenhouseGasEmissions #Sustainability #eFuel #GreenShipping #GreenFuels #RenewableFuels #SustainableFuels #Hydrogen

📢 GREAT NEWS! Liquid Wind has been granted €3.6 million (SEK 39 million) from #Industriklivet — the Swedish Energy Agency’s program supporting Swedish industry’s #GreenTransition. The funding will support pre-engineering for our full-scale #eMethanol facility in Örnsköldsvik, which will be integrated with Övik Energi AB’s biofuel-powered combined heat and power plant to form a highly efficient, circular energy system. Once operational, the facility will produce 100,000 tons of eMethanol per year, enabling the avoidance of 200,000 tons of CO₂e annually. 💬 Claes Fredriksson, CEO and founder of Liquid Wind says: “We are pleased to receive the Industriklivet support for our project in Örnsköldsvik. It represents a strong commitment from the Swedish government that not only accelerates the transition to fossil-free eFuel production in Sweden but also sends a powerful signal to international investors and offtakers. It’s a clear endorsement of our vision to scale local and resilient eFuel solutions in Europe.” 💡 Read more 👉 Press release: https://lnkd.in/diGdrkqm 👉 Örnsköldsvik eFuel facility: https://lnkd.in/dTrw8d7z 👉 Industriklivet: https://lnkd.in/d5B5NDRc The Örnsköldsvik eFuel facility project is funded through Industriklivet, which is part of the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) and Next Generation EU. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is taking a major step toward climate-neutral #shipping. Its new Net-Zero Framework (NZF), approved in April 2025 and expected to be adopted in October, sets binding targets and introduces a global pricing system for #GreenhouseGasEmissions from #ShippingFuels. These changes will start taking effect in 2027, with full compliance expected by 2028. A key part of the framework is the IMO Net-Zero Fund, which will collect revenues from greenhouse gas emissions pricing and use part of them to reward ships using zero- or near-zero-emission fuels. Guidelines for how these rewards are defined and calculated will be developed over the next two years. 💡 Why This Matters Scaling up #CleanFuel production is essential to meet growing demand in shipping, and that requires investment. #eFuels are especially promising: they’re scalable, low-emission, and compatible with existing ships. But they’re still early-stage and costly. The IMO NZF must help close this gap. 👉 Liquid Wind’s Position At Liquid Wind, we fully support the IMO Net-Zero Framework and believe it can be a powerful driver of change. To make it work, we recommend: 1️⃣ Rewarding first movers: To encourage early adopters, the IMO NZF should offer differentiated rewards and prioritize the use of eFuels. Without extra support, these fuels won’t be widely available for shipping. 2️⃣ Use an eFuel multiplier to drive investment: The EU already gives extra credit for eFuels through its time-limited “RFNBO multiplier”. The IMO should do the same to attract early investment and help scale up #eFuel production. ❇️ What’s Next? To lead the #GreenTransition in maritime transport, #EU member states should: 🔹 Push for reward systems that reward first movers 🔹 Advocate for a multiplier mechanism to boost investment in eFuels

A secure supply is essential for #eMethanol to contribute effectively to the energy transition. At the same time, we recognise how complex it can be to navigate evolving regulations, volatile markets, and questions around long-term availability. With a strong pipeline of large-scale projects in the Nordics (each planned at 100 ktpa), Liquid Wind is driving the development of #eFuel facilities that will support a reliable path to #decarbonisation by supplying sustainable fuel for hard-to-abate sectors. We take a flexible approach, tailoring #offtake solutions to your operational and strategic needs. 👉 Learn more and submit an Expression of Interest here: https://lnkd.in/dWmknEqZ

✔️Consultation Completed for Our Örnsköldsvik eFuel Facility. Yesterday, we carried out an important consultation with the referral authorities for our planned eFuel facility in Örnsköldsvik. The consultation is an early step required under the Swedish Environmental Code, where relevant authorities share their views to form a stronger basis for the upcoming permit process. It results in a consultation report that is later included in the permit application. We are pleased to have had constructive discussions with: Swedish Environmental Protection Agency MSB (Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency) Länsstyrelsen Västernorrland Örnsköldsviks kommun Räddningstjänsten Örnsköldsvik Övik Energi AB “A big thank you to all involved for the valuable input and collaboration. We look forward to the next steps on our journey to realise this facility” says Ulrica Johansson, Senior Business Developer at Liquid Wind. This is an important milestone in our mission to develop large-scale eFuel facilities and accelerate the transition to fossil-free fuel. 💡 Read more about the project on our website: https://lnkd.in/dTrw8d7z #eFuel #eFuels #eMethanol #CCU #bioCCU #EnergyTransition
