In October, you will get to follow Minah, who appears in the TV series Gruvan. Minah is an Acting Production Manager as well as a Planner/Coordinator who has been working with us for almost eight years in various roles. 🌟 Being part of a reality series was a completely new experience for her: – The first few days were challenging. I nearly tripped over the camera crew a few times, but by the end, I barely noticed them. The project, led by Svemin (The Swedish Association for Mines, Mineral and Metal Producers), aims to give the public a closer look at the mining industry. By participating, we get to share our daily work, celebrate the pride in our professions, and inspire the next generation to explore the many opportunities the industry has to offer. Minah is eager to see her industry peers in action and gain insight into the mines in Kiruna and Aitik. She also hopes viewers will become aware of all the opportunities within the industry. – Everyone really has their own purpose, even though we work in the same industry with the same goal, she says. 🎥 Gruvan premieres on 27 October on Viaplay Group.

Amid the urban transformation, the old police station in Kiruna is being demolished. Usable materials are being sorted for reuse, including a fully functional backup power plant. For LKAB, it is an obvious decision to make use of the resources we have at hand. Therefore, in collaboration with Power Up Ukraine, we have chosen to donate the power plant to where it can make the greatest impact. Recurring attacks on Ukraine’s energy supply create serious crisis situations, and backup energy can help protect people in vulnerable situations. We are proud that our resources can contribute aid to those in need.

The #HYBRIT hydrogen storage project has been awarded Ny Teknik’s Stora Ingenjörspris 2025 in the sustainability category, a prestigious Swedish engineering award. The technology for storing fossil-free hydrogen in enclosed rock caverns is now ready for industrial implementation and will play an important role in the transition to producing fossil-free steel. Vattenfall, SSAB and LKAB launched the HYBRIT initiative in 2016. LKAB highlights that this recognition reflects the extensive work carried out within the HYBRIT project. Hydrogen is a key factor in LKAB’s transition to carbon-free processes, and the successful pilot results provide a strong foundation for evaluating storage needs and opportunities in connection with planned iron sponge production facilities. Complete article here (in Swedish): https://lnkd.in/dpPMt3bx In the image: Vattenfall’s Marie Anheden, project manager for HYBRIT’s hydrogen storage, and Gunilla Hyllander, CEO of HYBRIT, received Ny Teknik’s Stora Ingenjörspris 2025, a prestigious Swedish engineering award.
