Last week we celebrated the five-year anniversary of Polestar 2!
To showcase our brand-building car and the journey it’s led us on, we invited media from various Polestar markets to our HQ in Gothenburg to experience some of the first, and some of the latest, versions of Polestar 2. The team pulled off a great event with Polestar 2 in the spotlight, displaying how our first EV has improved over the years.
Back in 2020, Polestar 2 debuted as the first car with Google built-in, introducing a sophisticated infotainment system, and consistent over-the-air software updates ensured the car remained fresh. For model year 2024, Polestar 2 was upgraded from front- to rear-wheel drive for single-motor variants, improving drivability and comfort. Increases in range (from 542 km to 659 km WLTP on single-motor variants) and charging capacity (from 155 kW to 205 kW) along the way also helped empower our customers and reduce range anxiety.
Our latest Polestar 2 variants are even more complete, with an upgraded core processor chip for a smoother infotainment experience, the addition of premium audio from Bowers & Wilkins, bio-attributed MicroTech upholstery, and Plug & Charge capabilities, making Polestar 2 more attractive than ever. All while reducing its carbon footprint by 3 tonnes since launch – no small feat!
With timeless design and performance DNA, Polestar 2 set the standard for our cars and has been the inspiration for our continuous strides in the world of sustainable mobility. Now, with a four-car product line-up, Polestar is ready more than ever before to meet customer demand and prove that for us, progress never stops.
