We are happy to announce that we have signed a contract with Fornebubanen to build the new Skøyen metro station in Oslo, Norway. The contract includes the construction of a new underground metro station with two tracks and two access points. The project includes construction of a station hall located about 45 meters below ground, technical installations, elevators and escalators, outdoor areas, access buildings, and finalization works in pre-excavated tunnels. Skøyen is one of Oslo’s busiest public transport hubs. The new station will increase capacity and improve connectivity between subway, train, and bus, contributing to positive urban development in the Norwegian capital. The project will be carried out with a strong focus on energy efficiency and reduced climate impact. Did you know that around 25% of our drinking water goes straight down the toilet?   Figures from Prague show that around a quarter of personal water consumption is used to flush toilets. At Modřanský Cukrovar, a new neighborhood developed and built by Skanska, graywater – recycled and treated water from sinks and showers – is used instead of drinking water. In the latest episode of Shaping Sustainable Places, Ondřej Flanderka from Skanska Residential Development explains how the system is conserving this lifegiving resource. We are happy to announce that we have signed a contract with Specialfastigheter Sverige AB for the expansion and renovation of the correctional facility Österåker, north of Stockholm, Sweden. In its entirety, the construction project includes the reconstruction of two buildings, construction of 13 new buildings and various smaller service buildings. Including already invoiced work since the beginning of the project in 2022, the total order value for Skanska is about SEK 2.7 billion. We are happy to announce that we signed a contract with Railpen for construction and mechanical and electrical engineering services for the commercial office development Botanic Place in Cambridge, UK. The two-building development will create approx. 31,000 square meters of workspace and 3,700 square meters of terraces. The project includes restoring the building shell of the former Flying Pig pub. Botanic Place aims to meet high operational and environmental standards, targeting BREEAM Outstanding, WELL ‘Platinum’, and WiredScore ‘Platinum’ ratings. We are happy to announce that we signed a contract with National Highway Authority of the Czech Republic to build the bypass I/12 near Prague. The project “I/12 Běchovice-Úvaly” will create a safe and high-capacity 12.6 kilometer, four-lane road, including 23 bridges and six multi-level crossings. This new bypass of the districts in the east of Prague will help the flow and safety by diverting transit traffic away from populated areas. Inside populated areas, this will reduce the burden on the environment and residents.
