We develop our own foundation model, and build AI from the silicon to the driving of the car - not because it’s cool but because it saves lives. It wasn’t done and available to buy and we want to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries as fast as possible, so we had to do it ourselves. Thank you Impact Loop for the recognition!

Spending a day with colleagues in the Swedish mobility industry talking about the state of the industry, opportunities and challenges. Overall the sentiment is a positive vibe, with engaged, involved and passionate conversations. Related to Zenseact's domain of software and end to end deep learning the reactions are often of the curious kind. We love this reaction, as it gives us an opportunity to talk about how tech can be used for a real lifesaving purpose. Frequent questions are "How would a self driving car choose if it ends up in a situation where it either has to hit a child or an elderly person?" and "When will self driving cars be a reality?" Our answers are that we design the system to avoid situations where it would have to hit either one; and that self driving cars already exist e.g., in USA, China and Germany. When the technology could be deployed everywhere is, however, more uncertain. The good news are that we make software to help cars to be safer, even if they are not autonomous. Congratulations to Lars Backström at Västtrafik for the honor of being Agendasättare of the year.

We've always known where we're going and why: to make driving safer through automation. It's nice to see that recognized. Our CEO, Ödgärd Andersson, has been named one of Sweden's 55 mobility agenda setters of 2025. She's played a key role in the shift toward software-defined cars, pushing automation to create safer cars. For her, and for us, it's not just about the tech – it's about saving lives on the road.
