Sweden’s public sector faces an AI revolution It’s encouraging to see the government now investing in AI through workshops, AI factories, and sandboxes – initiatives that can strengthen welfare and help make the public sector more effective. At the same time, our report Enterprise AI Maturity Index shows that there’s still work to do. Only 17% of Swedish organizations are classified as frontrunners in AI – far behind countries such as India (31%) and the United States (22%). Many organizations in Sweden, and globally, are still struggling with what’s needed to succeed: ⚡ Setting a bold and clear AI vision ⚡ Building the right competence within the organization ⚡ Having strong frameworks for governance and accountability In other words: we have the vision, but we also need leadership, skills development, and clear rules of the game. Only then can we give Sweden’s public sector the chance to be at the forefront. The question is: can Sweden take the step from vision to reality – and become a leading country in public sector AI? Aritma, backed by Main Capital Partners, acquires Swedish Programekonomi 🚀 Aritma, a Norwegian bank-connectivity and financial automation software provider, acquires Växjö-based Programekonomi. Programekonomi brings Microsoft Business Central development capabilities and domain knowledge that enable efficient financial workflows for Business Central users. The acquisition has a strong strategic fit with Aritma and is in line with the company’s expansion strategy in the Nordic financial automation and ERP connectivity market. The acquisition of Programekonomi represents Aritma’s first add‑on since Main Capital Partners invested in Aritma in April of 2025. The combination is expected to complement and expand Aritma’s offering, further strengthening the combined Group’s position in the Nordics.
