Congratulations to Banco de Alimentos Puerto Rico and to all of the inaugural AbbVie Foundation Health Equity Accelerator cohort members for their hard work, growth and commitment to advancing #HealthEquity.
We partnered with the AbbVie Foundation to support innovative, community-driven solutions addressing health disparities — and we’re proud to announce the grant recipient of the inaugural AbbVie Foundation Health Equity Accelerator: Banco de Alimentos de Puerto Rico. Their ‘food pharmacy’ model is redefining how nutrition and care intersect, addressing food insecurity as a critical driver of health outcomes. We look forward to seeing the organization carry this innovative model forward and continue to deepen their impact in Puerto Rico communities. We are so grateful to the five nonprofits who participated in our first Accelerator cohort and truly inspired by their unwavering commitment to advancing health equity in the communities they serve: Banco de Alimentos de Puerto Rico, Health Betterment Initiative, Healing California, Healthy Hood and Vecinos, Inc.
