Do you know of a charity that might benefit from a FREE legal health check? Pro Bono SG (PBSG) and the SCCA - Singapore Corporate Counsel Association are thrilled to launch our Legal Health Check event, which brings together in-house counsels and private practitioners to support charities. The Legal Health Check aims to help charities identify potential areas of concern, review governance and compliance practices, and provide practical guidance and recommendations. They will also hear from Pro Bono SG and White & Case, who will share the purpose of this initiative and their firsthand experience going through the Legal Health Check - why it matters, and how it can strengthen a charity's foundation. Look forward to gaining practical tips on how charities should approach the one-on-one session with volunteer lawyers and apply them during their own Legal Health Check! Have a charity in mind? Invite them to sign up here: https://lnkd.in/gNDpshQt The Legal Health Check event is organised by Pro Bono SG and SCCA, supported by White & Case LLP, with The Foundry as our venue parter. #ProBonoSG #PBSG #JusticeForAll #Nonprofit #LegalHealthCheck

The Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS) turns 40 this year! ⚖️ Last night, Pro Bono SG hosted a celebratory event to commemorate this significant milestone with the CLAS community - the people who have shaped and sustained the scheme over the years. We were honoured to welcome our Guest-of-Honour, Mr Edwin Tong SC, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs, as well as distinguished members of the Judiciary. The highlight of the event was the launch of our commemorative coffee table book and the premiere of our documentary, both titled “40 Years of CLAS: A Legacy of Justice, A Future of Service”. This project was made possible by many generous contributors who took the time to share their stories. The result? A treasure trove of stories for generations to come! 🌟 We are deeply grateful to celebrate this milestone with our supporters, partners, volunteers, committee members, and past and present secretariat. It was truly a night to remember. ❤️ A special thank you to the Honourable the Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon, Mr Shanmugam, SC, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, and Minister Edwin Tong for contributing to the foreword of the book. Here’s to 40 years of CLAS, and the continued fight for access to justice! 💪 Check out our documentary here: https://lnkd.in/gef8_t-4 #ProBonoSG #PBSG #JusticeForAll #40YearsOfCLAS

Last Friday, Pro Bono SG (PBSG) held an SG60 themed Volunteer Appreciation Dinner to express our gratitude to our volunteers who have played an instrumental role in advancing access to justice in the past financial year. ⚖️ Thanks to the valuable contributions and unwavering commitment of all our supporters, we managed to support over 16,200 individuals and community organisations through various programmes across our three pillars: awareness, guidance and representation. It was a night of great fun, and even greater company! With games like human bingo and PBSG trivia, our volunteers and staff had a blast getting to know each other better, showcasing the vibrant community spirit that truly lies at the heart of PBSG. ❤️ Here's to many more years of championing justice for all and empowering marginalised communities with the legal assistance they need. Law Awareness Weeks @ CDC (LAW@CDC) 2025 was officially launched on 20 September 2025 with a refreshed theme: "Let's Connect, Contribute and Care for our Community”. LAW@CDC is a collaboration between Pro Bono SG and the five Community Development Councils (CDCs), aimed at providing accessible and up-to-date legal knowledge to the community. This year’s edition was launched by Minister Edwin Tong SC, Minister for Law, Second Minister for Home Affairs, and Deputy Chairman of the People's Association, together with the Mayors and representatives of the CDCs. During the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to our dedicated volunteers who have played an instrumental role in law awareness initiatives within our communities. In his Opening Address, Mr Dinesh Dhillon, Chairman of Pro Bono SG, highlighted the importance of legal awareness and how it relates to caring for one another. He stated, “Law Awareness is not simply about knowing our own rights. The heart of justice is how we treat one another. Hence, think of legal awareness as a means towards caring for each other despite our differences. In this way, we contribute towards what I believe is most precious about Singapore, a freedom where we live for each other and not just for ourselves.” To propel its mission of providing access of justice, LAW@CDC also launched the Access to Justice Community Co-Lab, a new platform that provides students the opportunity to co-create innovative solutions to meet community needs surrounding legal awareness. From 22 September to 30 October 2025, we will be hosting a series of expert-led legal talks on salient topics such as scam prevention, workplace rights and inclusion, and digital responsibility. Sign up here: go.gov.sg/LAW-CDC and get ready to be empowered with legal knowledge! #ProBonoSG #LawAwarenessWeeks #LegalAwareness Central Singapore Community Development Council, SOUTHWEST COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL, North West Community Development Council, South East Community Development Council (CDC), South West Community Development Council, North East Community Development Council, Low Yen Ling, Yam Keng Baey, Denise Phua Lay Peng, Alex Yam, Pei Ling Tin, Kelvin John Lim
