Keppel, through its subsidiaries, has entered into a share purchase agreement to divest M1’s telco business to Simba Telecom Pte. Ltd. for an enterprise value of S$1.43 billion, subject to post-completion adjustments. The consideration will be fully paid in cash. Keppel will receive close to S$1.0 billion in cash proceeds for its 83.9% effective stake in M1, while retaining M1’s fast-growing ICT business which complements Keppel’s integrated connectivity business, including data centres and subsea cables.  The proposed transaction strengthens Singapore’s telco sector, and benefits both the industry and consumers by bringing together two agile and innovative companies to create a nimble and competitive digital-first telco that can scale more efficiently. The enlarged entity would be better placed to accelerate investments into 5G and digital infrastructure, boosting service quality while contributing to more resilient networks and a future-ready digital ecosystem. It would also better enable investments in future technologies to make the business more resilient and responsive in cybersecurity, AI and sustainability. Milestone announcement made by MET Group and Keppel Ltd. on the sidelines of Gastech Exhibition & Conference – MET has finalised the Heads of Agreement with Keppel’s Infrastructure Division for the long-term LNG cargo deliveries of 0.5mtpa. This partnership will enhance the security of supply and source diversification in Singapore. The agreement further strengthens the synergies between MET and Keppel, who has 10% shareholding in MET, aiming to expand gas value chain opportunities in Singapore – and exploring opportunities beyond Singapore, benefiting from the rise of energy and power demand in Asia. The deal secures the coverage of the expected increase in Keppel’s gas demand over the next years, whilst fitting with MET Group’s strategy of expanding its global LNG footprint. [News] 🚢 A new milestone for LNG bunkering! GTT - Technology for a Sustainable World, in cooperation with Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (group) Co., Ltd., has developed an innovative design for a 25,000 m³ LNG Bunkering Vessel (#LBV) offering 6,000 m³ more storage compared to standard vessels of similar length (160 m). Equipped with GTT’s latest 1 barg technology, this design unlocks greater LNG sourcing flexibility, lowers idling operating costs, and accelerates LNG operations such as tank cooling. Such design feature also ensures compatibility with cold ironing regulations. ✅ We are proud to announce that this new LBV design has received an Approval in Principle (AIP) from five leading classification societies: American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore, China Classification Society, DNV and Lloyd's Register, during the #Gastech exhibition in Milan. 📢NYK Concludes Long-term Time-Charter for Domestically Built CTV in Akita Offshore Wind Venture Set to launch operations on Japan's first project in general sea areas NYK has entered into a long-term time-charter agreement for an offshore wind crew transfer vessel (CTV) with Oga Katagami Akita Offshore Green Energy LLC, a joint venture established by JERA Nex bp Japan LLC, Electric Power Development Co., Ltd., Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc., and Itochu Corporation. The vessel will be built by Kosaba Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. in Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture, and will operate along the coasts of Oga, Katagami, and Akita, engaging in Japan’s first offshore wind project in general sea areas. The vessel's design is based on a model operated by Northern Offshore Services AS,* Europe's largest CTV operator, with modifications to facilitate domestic construction. Building the vessel in Japan will boost the shipbuilding industry, create jobs, and support regional development. The vessel will be managed by Japan Offshore Support Co., Ltd.,** an Akita-based joint venture between NYK and Akita Eisen Co., Ltd. This joint venture also trains and hires local crew, contributing to the growth of offshore wind projects and regional revitalization. By providing CTVs for offshore wind projects off Oga, Katagami, and Akita, NYK aims to contribute to Japan’s stable electricity supply while strengthening our commitment to offshore wind power as a key business area.
