Window Maker Live is an installable Linux Live ISO based on the current Bookworm branch of Debian. The system uses the Window Maker window manager as the default graphical user interface. Window Maker Live's components have been carefully preconfigured and the desktop environment has a consistent visual appearance. Window Maker Live integrates selected components from other desktop environments such as XFCE4, MATE, LXQT, with a particular focus on GNUstep. The main idea behind this project is to integrate the Window Maker window manager as default user interface on top of a standard Debian/Bookworm base system. It also serves as an alternate installation medium for Debian/Bookworm. The second main idea not directly visible on the surface level is the inclusion of many useful command line utilities and tools for system administration. This effectively turns wmlive into a UNIX administrator's workbench for rescue and repair operations. -

The set of icons takes inspiration from the latest iterations of macOS and Google's Material Design through the use of visually pleasing gradients, shadowing, and simple icon geometry. Every image in this theme is a scalable vector graphic so it will look great at any size, on any screen. In my spare time, I work on adding new icons, updating old ones, and making this theme more complete. Since this theme is updated often, you should clone this git repository and pull regularly to make sure you're always up-to-date. La Capitaine comes with a configuration script that attempts to determine your distribution and desktop environment. Using this information, La Capitaine updates several system icons and icons used for mime-types. La Capitaine doesn't ship with two distinct variants, because I wanted to keep the size of this project to a minimum. -

A typeface made for developers. Characters remain standard in width, but the height of the lowercase is maximized. This approach keeps code lines to the length that developers expect, and it helps improve rendering since each letter occupies more pixels. Consider this in contrast to some other fonts. Consolas, for example, has slightly wider letters. However, they are still rather small, which forces you to increase the size by one point to make the font more readable. As a result, lines of code tend to run longer than expected. JetBrains Mono’s standard-width letters help keep lines to the expected length. The shape of ovals approaches that of rectangular symbols. This makes the whole pattern of the text more clear-сut. The outer sides of ovals ensure there are no additional obstacles for your eyes as they scan the text vertically. JetBrains Mono’s typeface forms are simple and free from unnecessary details. Rendered in small sizes, the text looks crisper. -

Kana characters and kanji with the texture of Maru Gothic while being firm derived from Genju Gothic (supports 1st to 4th level kanji) Full-width space visualization, pipe symbol |break line (Ricty Discord inspired) The dakuten and semi-dakuten are made larger than usual, making them easier to distinguish even when the display size is small. -

It manages Ruby application environments and enables switching between them.
