    webpack DevServer

    webpack DevServer

Serves a webpack app and updates the browser on changes

webpack-dev-server can be used to quickly develop an application. Options that are compatible with webpack-dev-middleware have a key icon next to them. This set of options is picked up by webpack-dev-server and can be used to change its behavior in various ways. When the server is started, there will be a message prior to the list of resolved modules. If you're using dev-server through the Node.js API, the options in devServer will be ignored. Pass the options as a second parameter instead: new WebpackDevServer(compiler, {...}). Be aware that when exporting multiple configurations only the devServer options for the first configuration will be taken into account and used for all the configurations in the array. HTML template is required to serve the bundle, usually it is an index.html file. Make sure that script references are added into HTML, webpack-dev-server doesn't inject them automatically.

    Immutable.js

    Immutable.js

    Immutable collections for JavaScript

Immutable.js offers a collection of Persistent Immutable data structures for JavaScript. Immutable data is unchangeable once created, which makes application development so much simpler. There’s no defensive copying, and you get advanced memoization and change detection techniques with simple logic. Persistent data gives you a mutative API, one that doesn’t update data in-place but always produces new and updated data. The data structures that Immutable.js provides include List, Stack, Map, OrderedMap, Set and more. These structures are highly efficient on modern JavaScript VMs, and minimize the need to cache or copy data.

    eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y

    eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y

Static AST checker for a11y rules on JSX elements

Static AST checker for accessibility rules on JSX elements. This plugin does a static evaluation of the JSX to spot accessibility issues in React apps. Because it only catches errors in static code, use it in combination with axe-core/react to test the accessibility of the rendered DOM. Consider these tools just as one step of a larger a11y testing process and always test your apps with assistive technology. If you installed ESLint globally (using the -g flag in npm, or the global prefix in yarn) then you must also install eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y globally. To enable your custom components to be checked as DOM elements, you can set global settings in your configuration file by mapping each custom component name to a DOM element type. Enforce all elements that require alternative text have meaningful information to relay back to the end user.

    serverless-chrome

    serverless-chrome

Run headless Chrome/Chromium on AWS Lambda

Serverless Chrome contains everything you need to get started running headless Chrome on AWS Lambda (possibly Azure and GCP Functions soon). The aim of this project is to provide the scaffolding for using Headless Chrome during a serverless function invocation. Serverless Chrome takes care of building and bundling the Chrome binaries and making sure Chrome is running when your serverless function executes. In addition, this project also provides a few example services for common patterns (e.g. taking a screenshot of a page, printing to PDF, some scraping, etc.). Why? Because it's neat. It also opens up interesting possibilities for using the Chrome DevTools Protocol (and tools like Chromeless or Puppeteer) in serverless architectures and doing testing/CI, web-scraping, pre-rendering, etc. You must configure your AWS credentials either by defining AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID and AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY environmental variables, or using an AWS profile.

    Apisauce

    Apisauce

    Axios + standardized errors + request/response transforms

Talking to APIs doesn't have to be awkward anymore. Low-fat wrapper for the amazing Axios HTTP client library. All responses follow the same flow: success and failure alike. Responses have a problem property to help guide exception flow, attach functions that get called each request, attach functions that change all request or response data. Detects connection issues (on React Native). The only required property is baseURL and it should be the starting point for your API. It can contain a sub-path and a port as well. The responses are promise-based, so you'll need to handle things in a .then() function. The promise is always resolved with a response object. Even if there was a problem with the request! This is one of the goals of this library. It ensures sane calling code without having to handle .catch and has 2 separate flows.

    Jimp

    Jimp

An image processing library written entirely in JavaScript for Node

An image processing library for Node written entirely in JavaScript, with zero native dependencies. If you're using this library with TypeScript the method of importing slightly differs from JavaScript. Instead of using require, you must import it with ES6 default import scheme. If you're using a web bundles (webpack, rollup, parcel) you can benefit from using the module build of jimp. Using the module build will allow your bundler to understand your code better and exclude things you aren't using. If you're using webpack you can set process.browser to true and your build of jimp will exclude certain parts, making it load faster. The static Jimp.read method takes the path to a file, URL, dimensions, a Jimp instance or a buffer and returns a Promise. In some cases, you need to pass additional parameters with an image's URL.

    Masonry

    Masonry

    A cascading grid layout plugin

Masonry is a JavaScript grid layout library. It works by placing elements in optimal position based on available vertical space, sort of like a mason fitting stones in a wall. You’ve probably seen it in use all over the Internet. All sizing and styling of items is handled by your own CSS. tem sizes can be set with percentages for responsive layouts. With the masonry layout mode, set percentage-width columnWidth with element sizing. Set percentPosition: true so item positions are likewise set with percentages to reduce adjustment transitions on window resize. Unloaded images can throw off Masonry layouts and cause item elements to overlap. imagesLoaded resolves this issue. imagesLoaded is a separate script you can download at imagesloaded.desandro.com. Or, initialize Masonry after all images have been loaded.

    jqGrid

    jqGrid

    jQuery grid plugin

jqGrid is an Ajax-enabled JavaScript control that provides solutions for representing and manipulating tabular data on the web. Since the grid is a client-side solution, loading data dynamically through Ajax callbacks, it can be integrated with any server-side technology, including PHP, ASP, Java Servlets, JSP, ColdFusion, and Perl. Improve the maxGridHeigh method. Add a third parameter to indicate the minimum height at which the method run. jqGrid uses a jQuery JavaScript Library and is written as a plug-in for that package. JqGrid was developed by Tony Tomov at Trirand Inc., a software development firm based in Sofia. Trirand specializes in the development of web components and embraces free and open standards like jQuery, ThemeRoller, & jQuery UI. Tony got the idea for jqGrid when he needed an easy way to represent database information in a project. The first requirement was speed and the second, was independence from server-side technology and the database backend.

    next-firebase-auth

    next-firebase-auth

Simple Firebase authentication for all Next.js rendering strategies

Simple Firebase authentication for all Next.js rendering strategies. This package makes it simple to get the authenticated Firebase user and ID token during both client-side and server-side rendering (SSR). We treat the Firebase JS SDK as the source of truth for auth status. When the user signs in, we call an endpoint to generate a refresh token and store the user info, ID token, and refresh token in cookies. Future requests to SSR pages receive the user info and ID token from cookies, refreshing the ID token as needed. When the user logs out, we unset the cookies. This package will likely be helpful if you're using Firebase authentication and expect to use server-side rendering—especially if you need access to Firebase ID tokens on the server side. If your app only uses static pages or doesn't need the Firebase user for SSR, use the Firebase JS SDK directly to load the user on the client side.

    nightTab

    nightTab

A neutral new tab page accented with a chosen colour

A neutral new tab page accented with a chosen color. Customize the layout, style, background and bookmarks with nightTab. Make the browser start page dark (or light, or anything in between). Do not access user information. This means nightTab will not request browser permissions. Aim to make everything on the user interface, within reason, customizable. Aim to make the user experience easy while supporting the above. Keep nightTab open source. Sharing the look and feel of one Bookmark to another can be achieved when editing a single Bookmark. The Bookmark edit modal has three options to copy settings to other Bookmarks. These checkboxes can be found at the bottom of the Visual & Name, Layout and Theme tab. Development and testing is only conducted on Chrome and Firefox. The performance and reliability of nightTab on other browsers is out of the scope of this project.
