#1348 Warning | Google contact *** has custom phone number labelled

No

I have been using GO Contact Sync Mod very succesfully for over a month now but a few days ago it has stopped syncing some phone and address fields. The message for each failed sync is along the lines of * | Warning | Google contact "Bowman, Les & Pam" has custom address number type "HOME", this address is not synchronized with Outlook. Please update contact at Google and change label to standard one (home, work, other).*

It is odd because all of the labels that it says are "custom" are the standard ones in Outlook. Around 1/3 of the contacts are affected

I have the same problem. The issue seems to ne resulting from Go Contact Sync Mod (GCSM) being case sensitive. When I go an fix "HOME" or "WORK" to "Home" and "Work" on the Google side, the sync works. However, from one reason or another, GCSM modifies the capitalization on the google side at a later sync back to all caps and as a result it erases the phone numbers on the google side. Anybody knows how to fix this?

Unfortunately Google changed this label from upper case to lower case when migrating from old GoogleContacts API to People API, therefore there was no proper enum available anymore as well. But your report brought me to some ideas, how to make GCSM more case insensitive when comparing these labels, will be fixed in upcoming version 4.1.29

Hi Florian, thanks for looking into this. I will be happy to test your patch before you release it.

Hi Florian, I have tested the new release. It seems to have fixed the migration of the e-mail addresses, but not the phone numbers and home/work address.

can you send the error message/logfile?

The sync finished with no error messages nor warnings. It just did not copy the phone numbers and the home/work address (note that it did update the e-mails regardless of how old the Google contact was, but not these other data). It worked correctly only when I mad a minor change (touch) on the Google contact. The problem is that I need to go through all the contacts where these data items were not migrated and touch them.
BTW, I was trying to recreate this secnario with a dummy contact and could not get the exact scenario. But as I wrote, it does happen with some of my contacts. Very strange.

maybe you have to resync then: select only contacts to sync (not appointments), then use Contacts"GoogleToOutlookOnly" and reset matches (if possible don't delete Outlook contacts, just resync). then the all Google contacts should be updated to Outlook again, with home, work, etc. fields
