Shop the Book Store in Books on Mac
When you shop the Book Store in the Books app, you can search for a book, buy or pre-order a book, save a book for later, or give a book as a gift.
Note: You must sign in to the Book Store to get books. The Book Store may not be available in all regions.
Search for books
In the Books app
on your Mac, click Book Store in the toolbar (or choose Store > Store Home).Start typing in the search field to see suggestions. You can search by title, author, genre, or publisher.
Ask Siri. Say something like: “Find books by Apple Inc” or “Find books about iPhone.”
Buy, download, pre-order, or save books
In the Books app
on your Mac, click Book Store in the toolbar (or choose Store > Store Home).Search for or select a book.
Click the book’s price, Buy Book, Get, or Pre-Order (or use Touch ID).
You can try out a book and read a few pages by clicking Get Sample (if available). Or save the book for later—click the arrow next to the price or Buy Book, then choose Add to Wish List.
Give a book as a gift
In the Books app
on your Mac, click Book Store in the toolbar (or choose Store > Store Home).Search for or select a book.
Click the arrow next to Buy Book, then choose Gift This Book (or use Touch ID).
An email announcing the gift is sent immediately to the recipient. To schedule the gift to arrive later, select Other Date, then set a delivery date.
Note: If you have Family Sharing set up, and Ask to Buy is set for your account, when you click to get a book, the Family Sharing organizer is asked to approve the purchase.
