
Mark a location with a pin in Maps on Mac
You can drop a pin at any location to get directions or keep track of it as you move the map. A pin is temporary unless you save it.
Drop a temporary pin
- Go to the Maps app  on your Mac. on your Mac.
- Control-click a location, then choose Mark Location. - Maps drops a pin  at the location on the map. You can have only one marked location on the map at a time, unless you save a location as a pin. at the location on the map. Save and name a pin
- Go to the Maps app  on your Mac. on your Mac.
- Control-click a location, then choose Mark Location. 
- Scroll down the place card, then click Pin. 
- To rename a pin, hold your pointer over the saved place below Library in the sidebar, then click  . Click the name field, then enter a new name, or select “My home,” “My work,” or “My school.” . Click the name field, then enter a new name, or select “My home,” “My work,” or “My school.”- Tip: Your home, work, and school addresses are identified with special icons on the map. To add these addresses to the Contacts app, select Add to Contact Card. 
Some pins appear in the sidebar. To see all of your pins, click  in the top-right corner, click Library, then click Pinned.

Adjust the location of a pin
- Go to the Maps app  on your Mac. on your Mac.
- Below Library in the sidebar, hold your pointer over the pin you want to move, then click  . .
- Click Refine Location on the Map, then drag the map. 
- Click Done. 
Remove a pin
You can remove a pin  that you drop.

- Do any of the following: - Select the pin, scroll down in the card, then click Remove. 
- Click  in the top-right corner, click Library, then click Pinned. On a trackpad, swipe left with two fingers on the pin, then click Delete. in the top-right corner, click Library, then click Pinned. On a trackpad, swipe left with two fingers on the pin, then click Delete.
