October 16-18, 2025 – Thailand opens the curtain on the year's grandest space technology exhibition, "Thailand Space Expo 2025," at ICONSIAM, Bangkok. The global innovation and space technology showcase is organized by the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (Public Organization) or GISTDA, under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, in collaboration with more than 100 relevant organizations both domestically and internationally, such as JAXA the space agency of Japan / KASA the space agency of the Republic of Korea/ Airbus from France / SSC from Sweden / / Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) / PTT Public Company Limited / Thaicom Public Company Limited / Charoen Pokphand Group Company Limited, and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), among others. Thailand Space Expo is a crucial step for Thailand, moving forward to become a leader in the regional space economy. In an era where space technology has become part of global economic and social security, taking a proactive role in the space industry not only allows Thailand to utilize advanced technology but also creates jobs, generates income, increases competitiveness, and reduces reliance on foreign countries. Thailand is currently at a significant turning point where it must define the direction for the development of the space industry. "Thailand is advancing towards a new role as a global co-developer of space technology. This event is not merely a display of technology, but the starting point for truly elevating the nation's potential and role onto the world space stage."

The 17th AOGEO Symposium Kicks Off in Bangkok The 17th Asia-Oceania Group on Earth Observations (AOGEO) Symposium officially commenced today at the Millenium Hilton Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) of Thailand through the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), in collaboration with Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan with support from the AOGEO and GEO Secretariat. The outcomes of this symposium—including academic recommendations, lessons learned from international cooperation, pilot projects, and new approaches to utilizing Earth Observation—will be consolidated into an AOGEO Statement, to be presented formally to the AOGEO community at the regional level and to the GEO at the global level.
