Maoists blow up forest beat house in Nuapada
Bhubaneswar: Maoists blew up a forest beat house using a low-intensity pressure bomb and set ablaze an excavator at Golabandh under Kermeli panchayat in Nuapada district on Thursday night, triggering violence in the area after nearly 10 months. The beat house was partially damaged in the explosion.
“It is suspected the attack might be the handiwork of Maoist cadres from the Mainpur-Nuapada division.

It looks like the action is to show their presence. Further investigation is on,” DIG (south-western range) Charan Singh Meena said. No one was hurt in the incident, he added.
In October last year, 20-25 Maoists fled a camp after a fierce exchange of fire in Patdhara reserve forest in Nuapada, which is close to Chhattisgarh. Maoists are known to shuttle between Chhattisgarh and Odisha using the forests of Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary.
Maoists had killed three CRPF commandos near Patdhara forest in June last year. The ambush of CRPF commandos was the first left-wing extremist violence in more than three years (between 2019 and 2022).
