GURGAON: Two members of Jitender Mann Gogi gang were nabbed after a joint operation by Gurgaon CIA and Delhi police following a brief encounter near Dhankot in Gurgaon on Friday morning.
The suspects identified as Mohit Jhakhar and Jatin suffered bullet injuries during the encounter.
Multiple shots were fired at the spot. After the gangsters opened fire at the police teams, cops did retaliatory firing injuring the two suspects.
According to the sources, the two were involved in the killing of an eyewitness in a criminal case in Delhi.
The victims were taken to local civil hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
Police are likely to register an attempt to murder case and also book the suspects under Arms act.
A total of 13 bullets were fired at the spot, including six by the two gangsters. Police recovered two pistols, four live cartridges, and a bike.
The operation was a joint effort by the Sector-40 CIA team of Gurgaon Police and the Delhi Special Cell.
According to police sources, the two gang members were involved in the killing of an eyewitness in a double murder case in Najafgarh, Delhi, in July. They had fired 25 shots at the eyewitness then.
Both were criminals with a Rs 50,000 reward on their heads.
