Jeremy Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is all about returning to the character in the future. There had been claims and rumors about how the actor had rejected doing a season 2 of the 2021 series ‘Hawkeye’ that starred
Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. In recent news, however, he has revealed that even though he was offered a lot less money, he still loves the character to the point where he is still looking forward to reprising his role.
Jeremy Renner talks about wanting to return for ‘Hawkeye’ season 2
While in conversation with PopVerse, the actor revealed that he loves his character in the MCU, and reprising his role is not something that he is against. During the interview, he shared that, “I love that character. I think there’s so much for us to do. I’ll always dance with Marvel. I’ll always dance with them for sure when appropriate, when it’s rocking.”
His last appearance in the MCU was in the first season of ‘Hawkeye’ in 2021, where he played the role of the original Hawkeye, Clint, as he trained Hailee’s character to be the new archer.
Jeremy Renner is up for a new role, even with half the pay
The actor has time and time again been open about his work in the Hollywood industry. During an interview with High Performance, he had earlier revealed that while he was offered the role for the second season of the show, he was being offered “half” of what was given to him in season one.
“I’m like, ‘It’s going to take me twice the amount of work for half the amount of money, and eight months of my time, essentially, to do it for half the amount,’” he revealed.
He also joked at the time that maybe one of the reasons he was getting offered less was due to his snowmobile accident in 2023 that almost claimed his life at the time.
The actor will next be seen on the fourth season of his show, ‘Mayor of Kingstown’, on October 26 this year. After that, fans will be able to enjoy the actor on the big screen with the theatrical release of the thrilling murder-mystery series film, ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.’
