Ameesha Patel recently called out the double standards in relationships. She pointed out that when a woman wants a well-settled man, she’s called a gold-digger, but if a man expects a woman to take care of the house, it’s completely accepted.

Double standards in love

Talking to Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast, Ameesha said, "If a woman wants a well-settled man, she is called a gold-digger. If a man wants a woman to do all his household chores, then what are we, a glorified staff? housekeeper or caretaker? We can turn it around both ways. So it is how you look at it. It is a perspective(sic)."

Choosing career over marriage

In the same interview, she also spoke about choosing her career over marrigae. Sje admitted that while her career was always her top priority, she did make sacrifices for love — and vice versa. She recalled a serious relationship before entering films, with a partner from a prominent South Bombay industrial family, similar to her own. “Everything ticked all the boxes,” she said, but when she chose to pursue acting, her partner wasn’t comfortable with someone in the public eye. Ameesha ultimately picked her career over the relationship, saying she has “lost a lot for career and lost a lot for love” — but also learned valuable lessons from both.

On finding the right partner

“I am all up for marriage, as long as I find someone worthy. They say, ‘Where there is a will, there is a way,’ so the person who finds me through everything and mauke par chauka maar lega will be my person," she concluded.Meanwhile, on the work front, Ameesha was last seen in Anil Sharma's 'Gadar 2' with Sunny Deol and Utkarsh Sharma. The film made some record-breaking collection at the box office. The director has recently hinted at the third instalment of the popular franchise.
