A look at some of the major silver mining regions across Rajasthan:Rampura Agucha: Situated close to Bhilwara, Rampura Agucha mine is the largest zinc mine in India and also a significant producer of silver. As per Mining Technology, the mine produced an estimated 6.31 million ounces of silver in 2023.
Sindesar Khurd: This mine in Rajsamand district is another significant contributor to India's silver production. It's operated by Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), which is India's largest silver producer.Rajpura-Dariba: Rajpura-Dariba in Udaipur has also been a centre for silver extraction for centuries now.Zawar Mines: These mines are ancient. These date back to the 9th century and are located in Udaipur.
