  • 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘺 - At the 𝑨𝒏𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒓 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕, many told us that beyond the inspiring keynotes and trendspotting insights, what they valued most was the midday roundtable session — a space carefully designed for meaningful conversations. We invited 9 Roundtable Chairs, each leading a topic that bridges industries and perspectives — from AI and mobility to fashion, storytelling, and sustainability. In just an hour, participants could choose to dive deep into one discussion or switch tables to explore more diverse dialogues. Huge thanks to our participants and chairs for making this “social experiment” a success. 🌿 We’ll keep refining and creating spaces that manufacture serendipity — where ideas, people, and possibilities collide. . 🏸 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 🥊 Mesh Ventures' Sam Lam on the Transformative Power of Sports When Sam — Managing Partner at Mesh Ventures and son of Quanta’s founder, Barry Lam — took the stage at the Anchor Innovation Summit, we didn’t start with capital, valuations, or market trends. We started with 𝒃𝒂𝒅𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒏 and 𝒃𝒐𝒙𝒊𝒏𝒈. We were reminded that not all lessons in leadership are learned in boardrooms. Some are forged in the quiet moments after a loss — and in the rhythm of discipline that never stops. From Taiwan’s 11.3% CVC growth to Mesh’s agile deal-by-deal model, the mindset of sportsmanship runs deep. 🎥 Stay tuned for the recording, but you can dive into Sam’s story first 👇 https://lnkd.in/guvqA-Kn - #Leadership #Sportsmanship #VentureCapital #MeshVentures #AnchorAsia #Resilience #Character #anchorinnovationsummit

  • 𝟮𝟯𝟯𝟱. That’s 23.35 million — the population of Taiwan, and also the number of motorized vehicles on this island. As of May 2025, vehicles officially outnumbered people. This was the starting point that Jeffrey Wu, Co-founder of WeMo Scooter, brought to us at the opening session of the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭. He contrasted 23.35 million vehicles with only ~𝟭𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 in Taiwan today — a staggering gap that fuels his determination to push WeMo’s mission forward. But what can a shared e-scooter company truly enable when it comes to cross-sector collaboration? Perhaps more than most would imagine. ✨ A few examples Jeffrey highlighted: * 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 — WeMo partners with USI Group, a Taiwanese chemical company, to develop cooling materials for scooter seats, enhancing rider comfort. * 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒊𝒍𝒐𝒕𝒔 — WeMo can potentially step in where OEMs hesitate, funding pilot projects that add value for riders or deliver branding and marketing benefits — even if traditional manufacturers find the costs prohibitive. 🚦 Beyond just moving people, shared mobility platforms like WeMo may hold the keys to unlocking collaborations across industries — from IoT innovation to finance to smart cities. A big thank-you to Jeffrey Wu for joining us and setting the tone for this year’s summit with such powerful insights 🙏 👉 What other sectors do you think shared mobility could transform in the years ahead? - #anchorasia #anchorinnovationsummit #anchortaiwan #wemo #emobility

第一場是 “Capital Without Borders: Regional Trends and Cross-Border Opportunities.” 另一場讓我產生深刻共鳴的,是 Ben Tsiang 的主題演講:“Beyond Silicon: Tech as a Conduit for Culture and Identity – What’s Next?” #AnchorAsia #AnchorInnovationSummit #Terasilic

Reflections on the Anchor Innovation Summit I was delighted to attend the Summit for the first time this year. After missing last year’s event due to a business trip, I was eager to join the conversation. Compared to previous editions, this year’s summit took a noticeably more human-centered approach, exploring the intersection of innovation, culture, and global challenges. I believe this shift reflects the turbulent times we live in—where leaders from diverse industries are not only reimagining the future but also urging us to take action to change. People can build a world-class product in a year, a competitive company in a decade, and an industry cluster in two. Yet trust and strategic partnerships can collapse within months, even at a devastating human cost. This is a sobering reality for professionals in any industry: security and trust are far more fragile than we often imagine. Among the many insightful sessions, two stood out to me. The first was “Capital Without Borders: Regional Trends and Cross-Border Opportunities.” Joan Yao insightfully explained how the Philippines has sparked a paradigm shift in Southeast Asia’s startup ecosystem, while Jeff Chang highlighted the practical realities startups must face when expanding into Singapore and beyond. The second—and the one that resonated most deeply with me—was Ben Tsiang’s closing talk: “Beyond Silicon: Tech as a Conduit for Culture and Identity – What’s Next?” As an entrepreneur who began my career as an engineer, I have always been fascinated by how technology and humanity can meaningfully interact. Two decades ago, I participated in media creation, and I have also taught part-time at a university. These experiences have often made me ask: How can a company balance business goals with social responsibility? When a startup is still struggling to survive, does that mean it cannot contribute to society? I believe CSR isn't exclusive to large, profitable corporations. Startups, too, can play a meaningful role. Early this year, we hosted a private screening of “A Chip Odyssey” for educators from several universities and high schools in Taipei. Through this film, we hoped to share stories of mission-driven innovators—and the purpose that fuels their work—with the next generation. Rebuilding Humanity and Resilience Today’s geopolitical landscape has exposed the self-interest and greed of many in power. Many businesses—and people—have been hurt as a result. As companies rebuild themselves and strengthen resilience, I believe we should also ask ourselves: Can we do more to help restore human values and compassion in the world? That, to me, was the most meaningful message of this year’s Innovation Summit: Innovation is not only about technology—it is about rethinking trust, responsibility, and culture in a world that urgently needs them. #AnchorAsia #AnchorInnovationSummit #Terasilic

Ecosystem & Venture Capital for Cross-border Innovation

- #AnchorAsia #AnchorInnovationSummit #AnchorTaiwan
